You folks know I have been pounding CR and the bids on eBay through their site. I have been getting credited for only 10% of my bids. I have done every bid the same so it would be an all or none situation. I make sure that my name and point total loads before I make a bid, every time. I open a new window , every time.

I have made over 700 bids since saturday morning and have been credited for 67. I have bid on 23 items so I am not getting credit per item.

I have emailed CR and will let you know what they say.

Anyone else having this problem?

I've been shorted on points too. I'd have to go back and re-count for sure but it seems like out of 40 bids I was shorted 4. That's an even 10% but in my case I figured "Oh well" because 4 isn't that much. I'd be curious to know what CR says to you, 10% in your situation is a big deal.

Good luck and I hope you get your points!

I just checked my CR totals and out of 270 points yesterday, they only credited me for 130. This rewards site is new to me, i just started 4 days ago, so untill yesterday i didn't keep track. Now I feel I know what I'm doing. I did the same as the above person, waiting for the site to load and opening a new window each time, etc... This rewards site has so much potential, if they credit you for the bids.
I also emailed them- I'll let you know what they say too...

I have gotten a couple of emails. I have been told that I have to make bids on more than a handful of items.

I said that was no problem as long as I found more items that interested me. I also questioned why there was such a difference in bids made and credited.

Christopher wrote back and stated that I was being credited what was showing up on their report from eBay.

I'll keep you posted.

I also received an email. This is what he said:

Hi,
Please make sure you're clicking through for each and every bid since we
credit what appears in our reports since this is what we are paid for.

Sincerely,
Christopher Basista

I was clicking through each bid. I will really be careful today and see how they credit me tomorrow.

I too checked my "my ebay" page, and noticed that I had many more bids at ebay than the reflected number of received points at CR. I've emailed CR but haven't heard back from them.

I've used the banner link each time, closed the window each time, and have bid on a variety of items. In fact, it appears that I am only being credit for 10% of my ebay bids. My CR credit works out roughly in the following equation

15% x (actual number of ebay bids) x 5 = CR Points

Interesting.....

My latest email to CR:

"It has come to my attention that there are at least a few people who are being paid at the same percentage as I. Are we all doing it wrong in the same manner?

Since I was given close to proper credit the first few days I tried this program I do not understand why there is such a discrepancy now.

Dave Costantino"

Let's hope we get a decent answer

Here's the response:

"Hi,
We do not have control over what appears in the reports and what doesn't. This offer is currently unlimited, which could change at anytime at eBays sole discretion. We credit you what appears in the reports. Things not in your account means we weren't paid for the transaction and cannot pass the points onto you for something we're not paid for.

Sincerely,

Well, I just checked and they have put up yesterdays totals. I got credit for 12 bids(60 points) when in fact I placed 28 bids. When I do Ebay today I will be more careful. I will bid on a couple of things. Maybe you can't have more than one window open at a time(i would open 3 and let them load) Lets see if that makes a difference.

I was opening multiple windows also....more like 30 or 40 though:o . The first couple of days i was doing it in a slightly different manner(*..see below) and was getting credit for most of my bids...maybe even all.

* the first few days I was opening a window entering an item # hitting search then opening another window before the search was complete, entering the item # then opening another window...

Jackie showed me a faster way of doiing it. Opening window after window after window then entering the item #. Since I started doing it that way it seems that I have not gotten credit for my bids. Today I am bidding on an item only once. If this seems to help get accurate credit then I'll try to go back to my original method.

Hi all,

I was previously being shorted points from my Ebay bids on CR. However I found that if I let the Ebay "Bid Confirmation" screen fully load then my points were credited properly. That is to say that once I place my bid, the next screen that says whether I'm the high bidder, been outbid, etc., completely loads until "done" appears in my Internet Explorer status bar.

Hopes this helps,
Chris

ceburto2 I think you may be on to something there....that makes sense. Thanks for the tip!

Are you bidding on things you don't really want? Do you realize that just raises the price of things that people are actually going to buy? How would you feel if the price of the thing you wanted was jacked up from people just bidding for points. I'm not the ebay police or anything - just a CR and ebay member and I just don't like the thought of my ebay items being inflated because someone's collecting points. I'd rather have a lower price at ebay than a few points at CR. Just my opinion but I felt I needed to share it.

Lora your post is one reason why I didn't want to post my method in the first place. I do sell and buy things on ebay so I am very strict on what I bid on.

My bids rarely come up to and never go over 1% of what the "buy now" price is. I never make a bid on a item that has the "buy now" symbol unless it has a bid already. I read here on the DIS that some folks that use the "buy now" feature lose that option when the first bid has been made.

To clarify I'll give an example. I'll make 20 bids on an 18k gold watch that has a "buy now" price of $3500.00. This is how my bids go. $.1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8, .9, 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 2.50, 3.00, 3.50, 4.00, 4.50, 5.00, 6.00, 7.00. Sometimes the bid might start at $1 and I'll end my bid at $20. I will also only bid on an item within the first day that it is available. After that I keep my bids away.

It isn't easy to find those kid of products that I feel comfortable bidding on but those are the rules I have set for myself. Those rules are more strict than the rules set up by ebay and CR.

I have been high bidder on about 2 or 3 dozen items. For example $1 on a $1300 ring, $.5 on $900 watch. Usually for about 3 or 4 hours.

Chris, Welcome to the DIS!! Glad to have you aboard.
Most reward sites don't give you credit unless you allow their "awards credited" page to load. I have been waiting for that heading to load fully before finalizing my bids. My complaint is that I really haven't changed my mode of operation yet I am not being credited the same points. I wouldn't have a comlaint if they would let me know exactly what a creditable(is that a word?) bid is. It seems to have changed.

I felt I had to respond to Lora's port. I am an established ebayer. Have been for over 3years- as a buyer and a seller. I have hundreds of positive feedbacks.

I have NEVER bid on things I don't want. I would love to win the auctions that I bid on. I'm just not willing to go over a certain price for the items I bid for. And now I can get credit for the bids. I feel this is a win, win situation. I would love to win these items, and they would love to sell them. What is the problem?

singitalto.... If that's the way you bid, then my post was not meant for you at all. I'm just wondering if there are people bidding on things w/ out any desire to win the item. The way Dave describes his method is at least not really hurting anyone's chances of getting a nice price on the item they're looking for. I don't think everyone out there is being so scrupulous about their bidding, however. Those are the people I'm worried about. I appreciate the opportunity to get some points by placing bids. I wonder how long that will be available if people abuse it. Most of the other sites that give credit for ebay bids only credit if you actually win the item. I'm hoping CR doesn't get to the point where that is necessary. Happy clicking and bidding!

Lora,
Your point is well taken. Since reading some of the posts about bidding I have decided to keep my bidding to items that I wish to win...don't get me wrong I would love to get the $3500.00 watch for $7.00 but I won't be bidding on it.

Thanks for your input
