After we snorkel with the stingrays with Cpt Marvin's is there a shop on the way back to the ship to stop for Tortuga rum cakes?
Where exactly do we dock? and we head north to Cpt Marvin's?
Should we also plan on the Natl Cayman Museum or will we be too tired from the snorkeling?

It drops anchor and you take tenders in., Once you get off the tender there are a multitude of shops directly infront of you that sell the rum cakes (you can also get a good deal on them on the ship at the store near beat street- I can't remember the name right now but it sells liquor and such) if you take a left from the tender station and walk you will eventually come to captian marvins store front. They have exact directions on their website (www.captianmarvins.com) I think it was about a ten min. walk or so. There are many shops along the way.
We were pretty tired after snorkling and stopped at a few shops and headed back for a late lunch on our veranda and watched the tenders come in. I would think more sightseeing might be a bit much. You are in the water for quite some time, our trip was the 10:15-1:15 but we did not even get back to the storefront until after 2:00 closer to 2:30

After our snorkeling trip (Clint Ebanks) we had a taxi take us on a "tour" of the island. We stopped at the rum cake factory where they actually had samples of all the cakes and punch. We bought a sampler pack with 6 small rum cakes(think the size of a large donut). We have been kicking ourselves ever since for not buying more rum cakes. What were we thinking? First of all, these cakes are fabulous! Secondly, they could have served as great Christmas gifts for some of those hard to buy for Aunts and Grandmas. Do yourself a favor and think hard while you're there because you will regret not buying lots of these once you get home!

I couldn't agree more!!! The cakes are wonderful!

You can also buy Rum Cakes onboard the Magic in Upbeat.

Good morning imgoingtodisney.

In the small strip mall where the offices for Captain Marvin's are located, there is a store (outlet?) which sells the rum cakes. Also, each adult in your party will receive a small rum cake from the staff of Captain Marvin's at the conclusion of your tour. They will give the cake to you back at their offices, not at the boat...

We didn't get rum cakes from captain marvin........ what a nice gesture!

Hello BD!

I too thought this was a very nice touch by the Captain Marvin's company!

Although it did get me into a bit of trouble. You see, I, um, kinda ate Travis's free cake too in addition to my own. I still haven't been able to live it down.

We too purchased our Rum Cakes from this shop. I remember that she had samples of every kind out so you could sample them. We saved them and served them at a Christmas get together. Our "never leave SC" friends were impressed.

I guess if Capt. Marvins is giving free cakes we will have to go back.

Have fun,

Russ

LOVE those Tortuga Rum Cakes! Coconut is my favorite.

Hmmmm... I think I have one tucked away from last June's cruise. I may have to open it for a little Sunday afternoon snack. :teeth:
