CP package queue?

Hey there, everyone!

Booking the CP dining package and reading some posts has me wondering about how it all works these days.

It seems to be different from the way I remember it, but it has been years since we did this show now. I am pretty certain that you once picked up your CP tickets early and actually had a merchandise discount throughout the day using it. Dinner would be before or after depending upon whether your show was early or late. We used to arrive during a set time period and were admitted early (which was after the previous show had ended). Once that time frame ended, the standby line up would be admitted. Basically, the point of the package was to not have to get in a line up and access the best seats.

So, do you have to line up in advance with the CP package as well now? What do we need to know about how this works?

Apparently a lot has changed. Thanks for any insight!

Recently they have the dinning packages seats roped off, almost the entire theater, and there are CM at all the ropes managing people.
Depending on what you call "best seats" you need to arrive about an hour before the show, this is for seats closer to the stage, if you don't care to be that close you can show up later but just know that a lot of the reserved dinning seats have trees blocking the view so if you arrive late you might be stuck behind a tree.
Since there are ropes, both dinning and standby get in almost at the same time but standby cannot go to the reserved dinning unless they don't fill it up and open everything about 5 minute before the show starts
I have seen the reserved dinning line go as back as France so just be aware of that

Yes you do have to still line up early even with the package. There is a line for those with the package and a line for standby. First come first serve for both lines so the earlier you go, the better seats you'll have. From what I heard, CMs will start letting standby guests in about 15 before the show to fill any remaining seats so you should definitely be there before that or the dining package you purchased is basically useless.

All dinner packages are BEFORE the show you see and you will get your CP badge or ticket or whatever they decide to use when you eat. You cannot go to an early show and eat after.

The only way to "eat after" would be to book your package meal as either breakfast or lunch (nice to have both options available) then go to the early show, and then have a regular non-package dinner ADR booked between when the show lets out and Illuminations.

Thank you!!! This is all good to know. Things have changed since I last went to CP, obviously.

BTW:
IMO, best seats are central, somewhere near the front and have an unobstructed view.

Yes, it is good to have breakfast and lunch options as well!!! Some changes are good.
