We currently have adr's for early morning breakfasts at Crystal Palace and at Chef Mickey's. We can only keep one of the adr's and I am trying to decide which one to cancel. I really like the idea of being in the MK before opening, so based on location, I would keep CP. I have never eaten at either restaurant, though, and I am wondering about the food choices and quality. Any opinions about the breakfast offerings at either?

My son enjoyed Crystal Palace and being the first of the riders on Splash Mountain. I would keep that one.
We didn't really care for Chef Mickey's. It was loud, crowded, and the food was just eh.

Tough call - my family likes both, although we have only done dinners in each place. We have friends who rave over the CP breakfast, and I agree the food at CP is very good in general, so I'll tip my opinion over to CP. :)

Another vote for Crystal Palace, especially if your family likes Pooh & friends. We go there every trip for breakfast. It's a beautiful place, and you do get to see a nearly empty park when you go in.

My family liked Chef Mickey's much more than I did- it was noisy and chaotic, and the buffet tables were a mess. Not a lot of fun for me. However, you do get the "big name" characters so if that's important, then stick with CM.

Definitely CP! We've been there several times for all different meals and the food is delicious. We went to CM once and will never return - food was terrible, service was non-existent, and it was chaotic.

The last time we went to CP, it was the first time we had an ADR for pre-park opening. It was lovely to be in the park before it opened. Definitely worth getting up early for!

Yes, I'd recommend CP also. In our experience, the food at Chef Mickey's is mediocre, the service is mediocre, and the buffet tables are always messy. The character interaction is good but the place is a madhouse. We always leave Chef Mickey's feeling like we need a nap (and a good stiff drink...;)). We love the good at Crystal Palace, the place is immaculate, the character interaction very good. Yes, it gets hectic, but even when there is a parade around the room, the frenetic madness of CM's doesn't happen. CP would DEFINITELY be my choice.

Bag CM and stick with CP!:thumbsup2

We did an early ADR at CP on our last trip and now it is a must do for us. The highlight of my trip was walking up an empty Main St.:cloud9: Soooo cool.:cool2: The CP also had good character interaction and you are in the park, which makes touring that much easier.:yay:

Have fun!

I also vote for CP. The food area at CM was a mess, food was lukewarm & the atmosphere was lacking. I much prefer CP - food areas were clean, food was at the proper temperature & replenished frequently & the atmosphere is great. My DS loves the made to order pancake station - he can get his favorite chocolate chip pancakes there. Also, as others stated, getting into MK early is fantastic.:thumbsup2

We love both CP & CM for breakfast, but if we had to pick 1, we would choose CP. Love the puffed french toast at CP :worship:

Thank you so much everyone! My decision has been made thanks to your opinions. We will definitely be doing CP! I was so excited about the idea of being in the parks before opening, but was afraid to pass up the enormous (why????) popularity of CM's. I remember when CM's used to have the extra-long adr making window compared to other restaurants. I guess it's so popular b/c of the characters? Well, Crystal Palace here we come!!!
