CP classes

I sure am:banana: :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: LOl.. can you tell I'm excited?!? haha!

I was accepted for Spring Advantage Program in Hospitality. My dates are January 21st-August 7th:)

It is so cool =]
I was accepted for Spring Advantage Program in Lifeguard. I want to take 2 classes in professional development, probably finance and marketing. because I want to prepare myself for professional internship. Do you have any information about the professional internship? Is it hard to get an offer for PI@@?

It can be. The PIs accept a lot less people then the CP does. But at least the PIs are more major-specific.

Do you happen to know the wages for the PI? I want to do an animal program once I graduate, but a lot depends on the money since I'd have to get a non-Disney apartment.

Hello everyone!
I am really interested in the Engineering class since my major is Information Systems. I was wondering if the actually give you a grade and tests for this class. I would like to know this since I graduate on January 2009 and I wont be getting any credits for this class. Don't want to lower my gpa either.

I'm also taking the engineering class and nope, no tests or grades. We just chill with different engineers for a few hours every week.

Edit: Will you be allowed to take the engineering class? I know on the website it says open to engineering majors only. My school doesn't offer information systems so I'm not too sure what it is but it sounds like it could be related to my major, industrial engineering.

Thanks for the reply! Well the Computer Information System major is about Programming, Network Architecture, Database etc. It is kinda like Computer Science but focusing in the Business area. We are under the Business school instead of Science/Math school (Computer Science).

It would be awesome if you can tell me more about the class, your experience so far, whether you are liking it or not, etc. I would really appreciate it :).

And another question, how does it goes with your schedule? Do you find yourself not having enough free time? I fear that taking this class will left me with almost no free time. I will be doing Merchandise.

Thank you!

Sorry, I think I worried my reply wrong. I haven't taken it yet but I plan on taking it in the Spring. I actually haven't heard of anyone who has taken it already. I've been asking around for about a year and no one seems to know anyone who has taken it or details on the class.
I wouldn't worry about the class interfering with your schedule. According to the website the class is only two to three hours once a week and no homework so it shouldn't be too bad.

My son is planning on taking this class this Spring. He's a mechanical engineer major. I think he read that you sign up for the class on check in day. I was wondering if you knew any more sign up details. Thanks!

I'm in the Spring CP, so if I take classes I'd only be taking one? I'm just worried that won't be enough credits for me to be considered a sophomore next year.

Well to be considered a sophomore you need 30 credits so just do the math. Some schools do it by year so second year would be a sophomore regardless of credits.

At the end of my freshmen year I only had 29 credits, then did calculas over the summer at ended up with 33. If you're that worried about it just take some summer courses.

Edit: It also depends if your school even accepts the credits. My school gives absolutely no credit for any CP classes or for the CP itself. If you are being given credit for the internship itself and the class then you'll be okay.

I'm getting credit for doing the program through my school's cooperative education program (12 hours) so is it necessary to to take classes through the CP? I'm also enrolled in 15 hours of distance-learning online classes so I can stay on my parents' insurance.

I have been wondering......How is the amount of outside work for these classes? A lot? Very little? I want to work more than go to class, so I am trying to decide if I want to take classes.........

You can take TWO classes at a time through Disney, but the actual credit depends on what you set up through your school.

It's not bad at all. The Professional and Exploration have NO homework... the Collegiate class I am in does have about one assignment a week, but I've never spent more than 2 hours on any of them.

I did a Vlog about the classes I'm in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fevpof8-IoQ

Thats good to know. I guess i am just unsure as to if I want to take time to do them. I want to get the most of out my CP and I am wondering if this is a good way to do it....

how long is each meeting of the professional development studies ones? I'm just curious cause I know they're only once a week.

Also I forget, but will it cost to take it?

Classes are free in the way that there is no tuition to pay. You still have to pay for materials like text book and such...

I'm in the People Management professional development course - it meets for 2 hours a week and there were no costs for this class.

Has anyone taken the Entertainment Show Production class?
I need to take it for my school to give me credit, but I haven't heard anything about it.
