We saw the CP on 12/23 and Jim Caviezel was the narrator. I thought he did a great job, but this was our first time seeing the CP and don't really have anything to compare him to. I was wondering how you vets compare him to other narrators you have seen in the past.

We saw Jim C. do it last year. But, I would think, the top narrators I have seen are:
1. Robert Urick (sp?)
2. James Avery
3. Lou Gossett Jr

Robert U. so enjoyed being on stage with the choir and he sang most of the songs. The look of joy was on his face the entire time.

We were so bummed because Jim was supposed to do our CP the first week on December, but he was switched to later in the month. In his place, we got Jaci Vasquez. My wife liked her music, so we were ready to enjoy her performance. Unfortunately, she was a dud. She is a Christian musician, but she had to read every word from her script like it was the first time she had ever seen it. She just was boring. Oh well, the music was awesome!

I have only went once and Rita Moreno was the narrator. She did well enough but I'm sure I would enjoy others more!

We too tried to get Jim Caviezel when he was originally scheduled for early December. We ended up going to see Lou Diamond Phillips, and he was really good and really got into singing along with the choir throughout the show. So, I am happy with who we ended up with. Much better than the Miss America (I don't remember her name) who we had in 2003.

with Crazy Hakim's list - although we have never seen Jim Caviezel (spelling??) and would love to- we missed him last year and this year as well. Robert U was always a joy to watch and it was very obvious he was having a good time and very into the reading - he is greatly missed.

I saw Jim C. last year and he was amazing! My aunt and uncle saw him this year and I heard that he was once again, amazing!

We saw Haley Joel Osment this year and he was so-so. He wasn't terrible, but wasn't so great. He kept flipping his hair and not really into it. Jim C. was so much better! :sunny:

Jim Caviezel was the CP narrator when we were down there last week (Dec. 19-25). We saw him on the 23rd and really enjoyed CP and he was a great narrator!

Hope this helps!

That's the night that we saw him. He actually got very emotional at one point and his voice started to crack. He was bopping around and really got into the music.

We saw Jim Caviezel for the first time on Christmas Eve and thoroughly enjoyed the program. We have seen Gary Sinese (3 times), George Kennedy, Robby Benson and David Ogden Stiers at previous Candlelight Processionals. I will say that they were all very good but my favorites are Jim Caviezel and Gary Sinese.

We saw him last year at his last performance, it was very moving. We have liked all the narrators we have gotten.

Loved Rita Moreno this year. Went twice before and had Marley Matlin (substituting for LeVar Burton, I believe) and James Edward Almos (substituting for Roy O Disney).

We saw Harry Hamilin on the 16th. I wasn't expecting him to be great, but I was pleasantly surprised! He seemed to really enjoy the great music and seemed genuinely moved by the scriptures he was reading. This was our first CP and it was one of the highlight of our trip. My favorite part of the CP was the sign language interpretuer (sp?) It was so beautifully done. It was like watching a beautiful dance. The lady (I'm sorry I don't know her name) seemed so full of joy. The CP will definately be a must do for any future holiday trips!

This year was our first time and we were there for Haley Joel Osmet. He was just ok, the music was amazing and I must admit I spent a lot of time watching the woman who was doing the sign language. She was great.

I've only been twice - the first time we had David Hartman, who was kind of a disappoinment, but last year we had Marlee Matlin, and she was *wonderful*! She signed and her partner (a man, I can't remember his name, but you probably wouldn't know him anyway) interpreted for her. She was riveting to watch - so much expression, and looked like she was enjoying it so much.

We just got back from an incredible visit to WDW. We saw Marlee Matlin on the 19th. She was fantastic. I studied to be a sign language interpreter years ago and was so touched by the beauty of her signing. She was very dramatic and her voice interpreter had a rich and expressive voice. It was so beautiful that it brought me to tears. Deaf people can feel the vibrations and I could tell that Marlee really was swept up in the choir's energy. This was one of my favorite memories from our trip.

We saw Jim C. at the very very crowded Christmas Eve 8:15 performance. Having seen Gary Sinese before, Jim C. was in our opinion a poor replacement. His "and as you saw in the Passion of the Christ" addition totally detracted from the One Solitary Life poem, which we consider one of the most beautiful moments of the entire experience. His later "message from Mel Gibson and myself" was also entirely unnecessary. I know that a lot of people like him, but he just did nothing for us. His Aramaic-Latin schtick at the beginning was a little pretentious and not really funny or appropriate for what is a "Lessons and Carols"-type presentation.

We almost didn't do the CP this year because of the cost, but when they allowed the Dining Plan people to use credits, we decided it was worth it. After all, the music is incredible, and the deaf interpreter is amazing to watch. The narrator is a small part of the overall experience, so it wasn't totally ruined, but it certainly wasn't as enjoyable as in the past.
