CP Age: Worrying about getting too old.

Certainly not!

I went down the semester after I graduated and I turned 23 a month into my CP. My roommates were all younger as I opted to room with a friend I found in a CP forum. It was just fine!

The CP does not discriminate...age means nothing as long as you're legally old enough to work. My best friend and I were supposed to do the program together in 2003, but I had to decline. She went and met a female CP in her late seventies or eighties! So, really...don't worry!

Plus, it is not just CP's who work at WDW...you will meet tons of people at work! So, my advice is just do it and have fun! I think you'll be glad you did...

For sure anything over 25 is going to be the minority, but i know so many CP's that are much older. Some are even old enough to retire. All CP's have a great time regardless of age because they all have the same goal. I applied at 31 years old and would have fit in fine. I did the PI and lived on my own but always wished I would have been able to experience the CP life. They have so much fun.

Your not that old to do a cp. I'm going to be 21 doing my second Career start program. I'm not in college.

When I did my program, I was wicked nervous that I was going to be older. I turned 24 down there and to my surprise, I was the 3rd youngest in the apartment of 6. We would laugh that we were the old folks home, but the truth is I thought it was awesome. Really there is only 2 different ages down there. Old enough to drink and to young.

That's awesome - I'll also be turning 24 during the program... how educated were your roommates? I'll have my masters, so I was just curious.

Everyone was obviously in school. A couple were in a community college and some were universities. I don't know how helpful education was in my experience. I was just about finished with my bachelors and plus was once active duty military. The real skills that one must have to have a successful internship was communication, organization and time management. The smartest person in the world would have a hell of a time getting through the program if they weren't outgoing and capable of living with a number of people in close quarters. I would say that educational would be a plus, but its really Social skills that one must have.

I was nervous about being older too. I'm 22 and I'll have graduated about two weeks before I head down to Florida, and then I'll be turning 23 on the program. It's nice to see that even if I'm not in the majority, at least I won't be alone.

Yes, that is true. I was just curious how many people had masters degree... I'm not concerned about how "educated" they are.

And wow, a Masters at 23/24? That's awesome! What are you studying?

Haha... thanks, it's a great feeling to have it done!!! I'll have my masters in Higher Education: Student Affairs... which is basically the study of undergraduate students.
