Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
We our planning our cruise for 2019 and are looking to do the submarine excursion in Cozumel. We have a few questions-
Is this a popular excursion?
What times does it start? End? (having never been to Cozumel before, we would like to see some of the area)
Are meals provided?
Where did you get currency? (it mentioned having currency for the area you are in...)

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

We did the sub ride in Cozumel in 2017 (CZ20). Very popular, our sub was filled, bumper-to-bumper. 10:30 to 1:00. No meals. Don't be claustrophobic, it's tight and small. Have to shimmy down and up the stairs but worth it. We had fun seeing the sea life.

Awesome. Thank you for this...What about currency-or did you just use American currency while there? Did you pack snacks from the ship (or is that not allowed?)

Yikes. I looked at the pictures on the DCL site out of curiosity. I am not claustrophobic, but NO WAY would I do that unless it was a private ride. It looks small even in pictures, and I know how camera angles make things look bigger than they are.

They take American $$$ just fine in Cozumel and all port cities. Don't bother with converting back and forth. Always be extremely causes with the credit card. I just take a fair amount of $$$ in small denominations to just pay for it and not worry about change. Don't whip out a $50 for a $10 item and expect $40 back. You may get it or you may get thousands of pesos.
I don't recall anyone eating on the sub. Probably don't want seasickness/tummy upset below the water. You are really busy watching everything going on. Can not take "snacks" from the ship (fruit etc.) unless it is packaged (as in store bought packaging).
Eat a late breakfast and get a snack when you return to the ship.

There was probably 20 people on board. This was the second time we did this with this company (Disney port adventure). Did it again in Grand Cayman. Not bad if you are OK with tight spaces and have reasonably small hips (butt).
