We had a great time at Cozumel Mini-Golf and I recommend it as a great way to spend some time. We did come up with some hints:
Our plans for Cozumel were a round of mini-golf followed by a trip to Chankanaab for snorkeling before our dolphin swim. We disembarked carrying our snorkel gear and made our way past the many waiting cab drivers. HINT 1- Do not carry anything as obvious as snorkel gear with you as you pass the taxi line unless you want to be repeatedly asked by the drivers if you want to go to a swimming location.
There were 3 ships at the dock all with passengers heading into town. To avoid the crowd, DH thought it would be smart to walk straight up into town and then take a left rather than follow Sallys advice of walking to the flagpole and then turn inland. We ended up having to backtrack but certainly saw a bit of Cozumel flavor that we wouldnt have otherwise. Without Sallys previous assurances that the town is infinitely safe, the walk would have made me nervous. HINT 2-you probably want to stick to Sallys directions, especially if you have small kids.
The Mini-Golf is on elevated property on the left side of the street as you go inland. After climbing a small flight of steps, we were immediately enveloped in the Mini-Golfs greenery. Sally was behind the counter, we introduced ourselves as a Dis Board family and showed her our bag of dog chewies. DH chose to sit it out at a table with a cold beer. Besides clubs, balls and our beverages of choice, we were given a pager to order additional drinks throughout our round. Sunshine came out of the office to join us. Part Husky and probably about 50lbs she accompanied us as we played the course. HINT 3-Sunshine is very old and needs to be treated gently. (Is that a nice way of saying shes too old to be pushed, pulled or hung on?).
The Mini-Golf has tables and chairs set up throughout the course. The music ranged from Phil Collins to reggae. The foliage is lush and inhabited with geckos of varying sizes. Im not sure which our boys enjoyed more, the lizards or Sunshine. HINT 4-If you have a serious reptile phobia, beware the lizards.
The course is well designed with pools and small waterfalls adding to the lush rain forest-like atmosphere. There's even a small aviary at the back of the course. It took 3 of us less than an hour to play the course even with the help of our canine friend. HINT 5-Do not entice Sunshine to join you if you are not a true dog lover. Shes single minded about getting her chewies and will stand in your way or walk on the greens at any time.
I hope this information is of help to future Western cruisers.

of all the visitors to our island. It's just so difficult to describe how lovely a miniature golf course can be, and we are so very proud of ours!
