I am leaning towards this and wanted to hear from someone who had been on this excusion what they thought of the beach- was it nice? were you able to take the snorkle equip to the beach? I see there is a bar for adults what about kids, and are snacks available? how was the snorkling? I probably will reserve it this week so I wanted to get feedback before going ahead, thanks

We did the Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel & Beach Party (3.5 hours) on the 9/2 Wonder cruise....We enjoyed it. My family consisted of was myself, husband, 10 yr daughter and 6 yr daughter.

They take you to two locations...the first to snorkel...You only have about 30 minutes to snorkel. My 6 yr old didn't like it and returned to the boat in tears and frustration and I followed along because it really didn't matter to me either way. My 10 yr old and husband enjoyed themselves. This was the first time for my daughter. The area is probably 15 ft deep, sandy with fish swimming around.

Then the boat goes to a beach and I think you have an hour to play. I thought the time flew by and it felt short. The boat ride was relaxing and my kids had a good time.

I had purchased and packed snorkle equipment for my kids and they used it on the beach. I think one of the girls my daughter was hanging with did borrow some equipment from the tour.

There wasn't any snacks and my kids would have liked something to nibble on. I would suggest bringing something along to eat.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

when we went on this ex in 2000, diverted to cozumel because of hur debby, we really liked it our dd age 6 at the time actually snorkeled for about 20 minutes, her first time. where we snorkeled was the same place that they took the scuba diving ex. i can't remember how deep exactly they told us it was, but it was deeper than 15 feet, thought it was over 50. i stayed out the whole time, which was closer to 50 minutes, everyone seemed to enjoy the catamaran ride and free boat drinks. and the hour at the state park beach was very nice. all had a real nice time. it was also very convenient, you didn'y even have to walk to the end of the dock, they were just around the back of the magic. we thought that it was well worht the money, and the fury guys were sure happy to have us there since no other ships were there and they were supposed to have a day off, (without pay).
maybe that's why they were so nice, but seriously, they seemed to have as much fun as the rest of us.

when we there three weeks ago, they were hooked up with the caribbean princess, so we didn't have them for an option, or i probably would have gone for this one again.

Ann - we did the fury catamaran on the 8/28/04 cruise and LOVED IT!!!. The crew was great... the beer and margaritas were free flowing, especially on the way back. DH and I both agree one of the best excursions we have ever had.. the kids had a blast too.

The only snack I saw was a cheeseburger in paradise for $8 at the prvate beach, but there were volleyball courts, hammocks, kayaks, and mats to lay out on and a shaded area with tables. We didnt get back to the pier til about 5PM so we didnt have much time to shop but other than that - we loved it

I would definately do it again

Ann,

I booked the Fury Catamaran for our upcoming cruise in November. I will post how it was when we return.

I also did it on the 9/2 sailing and thought it was great. I really wish we had more time to snorkel though it wasnt all that long. The beach was great too and I didnt regret going. The staff aboard is great and treats everyone like they have never done the excursion before in the sense they try to make it as fun as possible. If you are going for the snorkeling I would see if there was somewhere else you could go to do it longer. Other than that it was great and its a nice time to sneak in a quick free drink.
