Are there any beaches in Cozumel that allow you to bring in your own food? How far are the beaches from the pier? We have 4 adults, 2 children. Would we have to take 2 taxis?

Thanks,
Wendy

There are some van taxis that would hold you. Don't know about beaches allowing food. we went to Paradise, which does not allow outside food. I think it took aobut 20 minutes to get there.

We went to Mr. Sanchos Beach. Do not eat there. I am not sure you can bring in food, I highly doubt you can bring in food. For one nacho (small and not very good) and 3 margaritas it cost us $30. I wish we were warned, no wonder why it was a free beach!!!

Wow..pooh friend..are you sure it wasn't 30 pesos you paid.

We went to Mr. Sancho's had full meal, plenty of drinks and it didn't come to much more than that. Mr. Sancho's is fantastic. The food is wonderful, the service is excellent. The restrooms are very clean. We highly recommend Mr. Sanchos.

We were with Pooh Friend. And the waiter walked us through the bill. He said it was 30.00 US money, There was a menu up in the umbrella that we found AFTER PAYING that had it down the same way. Oh well, live and learn.

We did the Beach Break excursion through DCL. We went to Play de Sol beach. The food and drinks were included in the price. They have a great area set up for Disney guests. We were catered too there. They transport you to and from there. They have a great pool for the kids to play in also, with a swim up bar for the adults. We spent more time in the pool area than at the beach.

Had a great to time.

I went to Paradise Beach in April and it was fabulous! We paid $32 US for food for 3 of us and there was so much food (hamburger and fries, nachos, chicken wrap, more fries and 3 Cokes). I think you have to pay $5 to cover the beach toys. The taxi ride from the pier is 10-15 minutes and costs $12 one way for up to 4 people. I really recommend this beach!

Did Playa Del Sol change names? I didn't know they had a pool area. tell us more about the pool. Did they have chairs around the pool?

We went to Mr Sanchos, they also had a pool, I like that better than the ocean.

TIA

The pool area was great. Yes, there were chairs to sit in by the pool. It was a really great time. The kids liked the pool better than the beach! ME TOO!! :)

I went to Chankkanab Park a couple weeks ago. Our beach bags weren't searched, so I imagine you could bring food from the ship. The cab fare for 3 of us was $10 each way. Admission to the park was $12 for adults (I'm not sure how much for kids), but the park was amazing. The beach and snorkeling were great. You can rent snorkel, snuba, and scuba equipment. There is also a dolphin encounter and geological site. Lockers are available as well. We had a great time. :cheer2:

With regards to Mr Sanchos we were also overcharged last summer and emailed them through the website. They were very concerned about the overcharging and attempted to refund the money. Because we live in the UK it was far too complex and I told them to donate it to a local charity. We love their part of the beach and had recommended it to othrs which is why I was so upset about the overcharging. They even offered us two free nights in their hotel!
