I just booked the royal dophin swim for 2:00 at chankanaab! Should we go right there when we dock and enjoy the park and beach --or should we try paradise beach before or after our swim? My dd is 8 and looking forward to playing in the ocean and I'm not sure if the beach at chankanaab is what we are looking for . Also how is the snorkling at chankanaab? Is there a way to get everything in??? THanks Jill

I was at Chankanaab over Thanksgiving 2002. The beach area is well protected but the snorkeling area is not so it can get pretty rough. It depends on the tide and weather. There is a floating dock in the snorkeling area but its about 30 yards or more out. I took my 60 year old Mom and 7 year old daughter, both strong swimmers, out to snorkel and the snorkeling itself was great but getting in and out of the water (rocky stair area...not a gentle drop off) and swimming out to the reef was a little too rough at that time.

cgdmom - how did you book the swim? I know the DCL excursion is just the dolphin ENCOUNTER, not the swim. How do you get transportation to the park?:fish:

I called dolphin discovery directly--had them put it on hold then faxed the information---I think you can also book from cozumel insider .com---if you want the SWIM contact them now-- they sell out fast on wed.
