Hi All,

Just trying to plan meals etc for while we're at DLP (end Nov) and really struggling to make any decisions. We've definitely decided on Cafe Mickey but are also thinking of the CC BBQ. I was just wondering if the 'Tasty Cowboy Chow with Disney Characters' is available during the day, i.e lunch?
Also what do people think and if we're only planning a couple of 'special' meals are Cafe Mickey and CC BBQ too similar in terms of characters??

Thanks everyone!! :)

Hi

I've not been to CCBBQ but I don't think it would compare to Cafe Mickey. I think it's counter service food. It is a character meal in the park though, so could be a good lunch option?

There is a thread here... go to the last posts for up to date reviews.

It is open at lunchtime. I wouldn't be worried about them being too similar for characters, you tend to get Woody & Jessie in CCBBQ :thumbsup2

Happy planning :goodvibes

I'm planing meal in Cowboy cookout. I don't want to go to Mickey's cafe again, so I'm thinking to try out something new. Inventions is also planned, but no cafe Mickey for sure

Thanks for the advice, think we'll definitely try this as a 'lunch in the park' one day then! I know my 2 would love to see Woody and Jessie (or as DD calls her 'yeehaaar' :lovestruc) so fingers crossed!! :)

Isila - out of interest why do you say you're definitely not doing cafe mickey? Is it just *** you've done it before or were you not impressed?

Have looked at Inventions to...feel like it'd be a good excuse to go into DLH :) I'm just so mad at making decisions and wish we could do them all but it's having the time and money to fit everything in!!

Good Luck with your planning too!! :yay:

This is why we have to keep going back - so many restaurants, so little time...!!! :rotfl2:

We loved Cafe Mickey - it's on our to do list on our next trip, for a character breakfast and for an evening meal. I found the food to be ok, not in the same league as Walts or Inventions, but it was great character interaction and a great atmosphere. You can get different experiences though, time of day can be a factor, as can where you sit and how busy they are.

That must be such a chore for you!! :rotfl: Genius solution to my problem though, will suggest this to DH :)

That's great thanks, I think we'll definitely be doing this for the experience rather than the food as the reviews do seem quite mixed. We're thinking of taking the advice of just having a couple of pizza's and sides between us all in Cafe Mickey and then save the food pennies to do Walts or Blue Lagoon one night!

to say the truth it worst meal of our trip. Characters were wonderful, but the food wasn't good. Service was slow. It's not a place I would be happy to come back to. I gave it a try, I've been there, not coming back. It's just not worth second visit. And probably breakfast would have been a better idea.

Inventions and cowboy cookout are planned for next trip.

We went in May and enjoyed it. Food was good, character interaction was good and it was a wee bit different with live music.

Jessie was not there though.....:confused3

It is on my list for our November trip.

That's our plan for this trip too! :thumbsup2

We had a great character breakfast here. Spent first 40 minutes just meeting characters, couldn't get DD to eat a thing!! Once they had gone though (around 10am) she ate! We also did the early breakfast and there seemed to be fewer characters but maybe we didn't stay long enough. We're trying it again on this trip, so we'll see!
