Trying to make sense of DVC's points accounting & from what I see

-172 pts - July 2019 - booked BLT using 18 banked from UY18, 26 borrowed from UY20, 128 from UY19)

Canceled trip due to covid, called DVC:
* was told the 26 UY20 points would be "unborrowed" back to UY20. They were
* was told the 18 UY18 points would be lost if not used by end of UY19. Lost 18 points
* was told the 128 UY19 points would be manually adjusted into UY20 due to COVID, they were

Oct UY20 allocation +200

Booked BLT for January 2021, 165 points. These points were deducted from the UY20 balance, leaving a UY20 balance of 35 and a bank balance of 128
Booked BLT for May 2021, 106 points. DVC deducted this booking from the banked points from UY19, leaving a banked balance of 22 and a UY20 balance of 35
Banked the 35 UY20 to UY21

These 22 banked points expire 9/30.

Am I valid in suggesting DVC should have deducted the January 2021 trip from the manually adjusted 128 UY19 points first? If so I'd then be able to bank the 22 point balance as they'd be from UY20.

Hope this makes sense as trying to explain point transactions in a forum is difficult.

It goes by the order you actual book the trip, not the time of the trip. . If you booked the May trip before the January trip, then that is why the banked points were used first,

Once used, they can not be switched to something earlier that is booked later,

In this case, since both trips are over, there is no way to go back and switch things around.

What are the exact dates that the cancelation and booking transactions were made?
If you did indeed cancel the 2019UY trip prior to booking the January 2021 trip then yes DVC should have used your Banked points first.
If however the January trip was already on the books at the time you canceled, DVC will NOT automatically make the adjustment to utilize the newly banked points.
