Ok so I am branching out of my comfort scrapping level!
But I have this really funky lamp. It came from DH parent's house. It is big ceramic blue. Really neat shape. Hubby wanted to trash it but I think it is from the early 70's and thought it was worth keeping. Only thing it didn't come iwth a shade.
I have in the attic an old shade that is a funky shape. I think it was my grandmother (ok I am a pack rat...)
Do you think it is safe to cover the shade with ribbon? I saw Martha do it once but can't remember if she did something to make it heat safe. The lamp is big, maybe 2 feet tall. So the bulb won't be that close to the shade.

Saw that one on Martha too. I remember wondering if it was "safe" as she was doing it, and when they gave no specific instructions on what watt bulb would be okay I assumed it was fine. Maybe she has the details on her website.
