Have spent time searching for this answer in other threads, but finally gave up! Can anyone tell me whether you have to pay for regular coffee at the Cove Cafe? I've read that most prefer it over the coffee at the drink station, so I'm wondering if there is a charge if purchased from Cove Cafe.

Here is the beverage matrix from the Disney Cruise Line web site:

According to the above information, regular coffee is free anywhere it is offered on the ship. Speciality coffee however, always costs extra.

Hope this helps! :D

OY!

A charge for tea at places, but not coffee?

It's discrimination, I tells ya!

:earseek:

I was charged for "coffee" at Cove Cafe. They make it in an espresso machine, if you can believe it. It came out unbearably bitter. The server apologized, explaining that they don't serve "regular" coffee there.

Their specialty is exotic coffees.

Okay..I really AM bummed about this. I drink two or three cups of tea a day. Doesn't seem fair that I have to pay for room service tea. :( Anyone know if they charge for just a pot of hot water :scratchin I could pack a bunch of tea bags. I've been looking forward to my morning tea on the verandah.

Not to fear NYDisneyMom!

The Beverage Station on Deck 9 has hot water and a large selection of Twinnings Tea Bags. These are free, of course, and the selection is quite good. I would say they have about 12 or so different types of tea bags.

And, for those who like iced tea, they also have ice so you can brew your tea with the hot water and then pour it over ice. I did this on several occasions with the Blackcurrant and it turned out scrumptious! ::yes::

We always order tea and milk from room service and have not been charged. Wonder if this is something new?!?

I have also ordered tea from service and never been charged....I never heard of a charge for tea before...that would be kind of stupid since they offer it for free up at the beverage station. I know there is no charge for coffee from room service so why would there be for tea????

I went into Cove Cafe to see if they had a Chai Latte like the Chai Lattle tea at Starbucks and the guy looked at me like I was crazy....at first he did not understand what I was asking for but then he said they only had different flavored teas...but no Chai or Lattes.

Tried the Chai Latte in the Cruise Terminal from the snack bar and did not like that at all. I think I am spoiled by Starbucks Chai Tea.

The only thing I've been charged through room serives was soda. Never for coffee or milk. Cove Cafe does only serve speciality coffees so there is a charge for all of their drinks.

But I planned on being a Princess on my cruise....LOL! I want the full experience, room service tea -- sitting on my verandah with my feet up, sipping my morning tea. Okay, OKAY!! I can dream, CAN'T I??

Hey, Phyllis, I'm with you! We are going to have to figure a way to enjoy our tea on the verandah. I'm hooked on earl grey.

Tammy...I'm a simple Lipton girl, myself! ::yes:: I guess I'll be packing a small box -- my luggage is getting heavier and heavier by the hour.
