Cove Bar Question

My husband and I really want to try the lobster nachos at Cove Bar next month for lunch. The only problem is, my son is a really picky eater and wouldn't enjoy anything on their limited menu, other than a non-alcoholic drink which we would order along with our definitely alcoholic beverages.

I am wondering if it would be okay to order my son something from somewhere else and bring it to cove bar to eat (a quesadilla or something simple like that, maybe even just a pretzel)? Is it open seating where this sort of thing wouldn't be terribly rude? Or set up more like a table service where this would be frowned on? Thanks!

It's an outdoor bar with just a few tables and the bar top (it's a pretty small space)! I doubt they'd mind. :)

It's not open seating, it is table service with a hostess and waiters. Since their menu is limited to bar snacks, I would just ask at the podium before you decide. I don't think they would mind, but better to be polite and ask.

Good luck trying to get a seat during busy season though! I went over there on my last trip and there was quite a line.

So just to clarify..you can bring kids into the Cove Bar?

It wasn't busy at all yesterday at the parks, but the Cove Bar was packed around 5:30pm, with quite a line. Just FYI.

As others said, they probably wouldn't mind (still it would be best to ask), but I think the bigger issue is going to be getting a table before your DS' food gets ice cold. Every time I've walked by the Cove Bar, there has been a line and an estimated of over 30 minutes to get a table. Also, it's not a traditional TS type of place where you check in, get a pager, and can wander around a bit. You have to stand in line until it's your turn and there is a table. It's pretty popular and there aren't that many tables...

My personal advice is to be there right at opening which often has its own line. Pack some easy to transport snacks ( apple slices ,granola bars, uncrustables, etc,.) so you can get a table. Keep in mind service can be slow at times so if you feel your child might be a bit ancy it might be a better stop without if it allows.

We ate at the Cove in off season ( mid May ) at an off time and had no trouble finding a table. We also had the nachos (DH, DD9) and it was around 2pm.

If there is nothing on the menu your child would like maybe a slow munching snack like popcorn while you have a cocktail and the nachos.

I was there in August. Maybe I will try again when I am there in November. I feel like I need to try those nachos. Am I right?

Thanks for all the input everyone. We'd really like to try it, so I think we'll head straight there as soon as it opens and bring my son some snacks. The nachos are definitely on my Disney food bucket list!

We did exactly that last time with our kids. I waited in line while my husband and kids went to get corn dogs. By the time they came back, I was getting seated. The kids ate their dogs, we ordered nachos and drinks, and everyone was happy.

I love lobster, I love nachos, but it seems like madness to put them together! I must investigate further....I mean, we're not talking about day-glo orange nacho cheese, pickled jalapeños, and stale chips, are we? Off to google!

The nachos are delicious! Chips, melted Jack cheese, black beans, pico de gallo, lobster meat. It's a bit odd with the sweet lobster meat on nachos, but they're really addictive.

Hope you get to try the nachos! We tried twice to get a table at Cove Bar and both times the line was ridiculously long (about an hour) and with 4 kids it wasn't do-able to hang in that line. The lobster nachos were #1 on my disney food bucket list and THE only thing I didn't get to eat
