I was just looking at photos www.marriottvillage.com. Is there a balcony for every room at the Courtyard? The Courtyard seems to be the most upscale one out of the 3 Marriotts. Any opinions?

We stayed at the Courtyard @ the Marriott Village on July 15. We had ressies at AKL but we decided to go down 1 day sooner so we stayed here. Our room had 2 queen beds but did not have a balcony. All in all I was not impressed. There were teenagers running up and down the halls and being loud. We didn't check in until 11pm. The front desk attendent didn't ask for ID or a Credit card (we paid with a gift card we had). You could tell that this hotel had some age. The bathroom was clean but out dated. I might be spoiled with Disney resorts but I would rather pay a little extra and stay at a Disney value resort then stay here. Hope this helps.

I too stayed at the Marriott Village the week of July 15th (one night). There were two busloads of Argentinian school kids being unloaded. Our hotel (Springhill Suites) had a sign in Spanish reminding people to be quiet in the lobby. FWIW, our stay there was absolutely fine and quiet. As someone who has stayed at the MV several times before, all three hotels, I will recommend it. Very typical Marriotts, no problems. You can poolhop between the 3 hotels. Great special being run through Mousesavers currently with a $25. per night credit (we used ours at the food court for pizza). The Courtyard doesn't include the free breakfast and is a hotel that usually caters more towards business people. Other options nearby are the Courtyard on Palm (this one is a little older property) or the Residence Inn also on Palm. Can recommend those too.

At the MV Courtyard we always end up in a balcony room that overlooks the pool area, very nice. Plus, the balcony expands your living area a bit (I sent the kiddos out there to eat breakfast one day, lol). HTH

The CY there is nice but I prefer the Springhill Suites.

If there is a compelling reason to stay at the CY vs Spr Suites, then by all means, go for it, it's a fine place.

I've stayed at all 3 MV places, and we like the SHS (even the Fairfield) better too for the space, free breakfast. A "balcony" or view won't offer much, unless it looks over the pool, so not sure it's worth it. These are typical hotels for their Marriott class, nice enough and get mostly decent TA reviews. FWIW.

The reason we are looking at the Marriott Village is for a trip to visit SW & Universal and not in the summer season. We are also comparing the Marriotts closer to SW. We might visit MK for one day. I know the Marriott Village is popular on travel boards and we are comfortable with the DTD & Lake Buena Vista area so we were adding it to our list. :wizard:
