Anyone got any comments on this hotel please. There seem to be a few Courtyard by Marriott in Lake Buena Vista and the reviews aren't always specific to which one they refer. I can get a good deal on a suite for Easter, but it is so good I am wondering what the problem is. Most hotels are charging rack rate or somewhere close for the Easter week. I am traveling with my wife and 3 kids, 6,5,2, if that makes any difference to the comments.

Thanks for your time

Well, I don't like to see posts unanswered, and since I have stayed at every Courtyard in the area several times here goes!

You say that you can get a good rate, you seem to be going over a busy time (Easter) so in that case you should be ok. Of the 3 CY's in the area (Downtown Disney, LBV, and Marriott Village) this is my least favourite. Was once a HoJo but was nicely reno'd and actually looks like one of the older style CY's. The rooms are standard Courtyard with the standard CY furniture, etc. There is a pool area in the central area with some type of play area and/or slide (can't remember, and I seem to get it mixed up with the one at Sheraton Safari) One wing has larger suites.

I always rent a car, and when staying here use the back road by the Grand Cypress to access WDW, which bypassess a lot of the traffic. Have seem some ppl less than thrilled with the transport here, which I believe is shared with other hotels. (Not unusual on Palm Parkway)

As another suggestion, I had friends stay at the new Residence Inn LBV further along Palm Parkway, which has free shuttle as well as bfast, and they were thrilled. If you can get a similar rate, you may want to consider it. It's at the end of Palm Parkway away from the more and more developed area.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply. I was beginning to think that maybe the hotel wasn't even real. We are staying for a fantastic 20, yes 20, nights starting on Good Friday. I had a nice rate lined up at another hotel for the whole 20 but decided to stay 11 nights at POR when the latest Disney code came up. When I tried to amend my original hotel booking to just the first 9 nights they upped the rate so I looked elsewhere.
Courtyard is doing $65 per night which I think is pretty good as most hotels are fully booked. As long as it is not the pits I will be happy.

I stayed at this hotel in June of 1999. At that time I payed $85/night for a two room suite. The hotel was very nice and very clean. My wife still talks about this hotel. We are going in June ,2003 and got a price of $109/ night for a suite. I would have stayed there but got a better deal at Holiday Inn Family Suites for $99/night. I can't pass up the food deals they offer with 4 kids to feed. I really don't think you will be disappointed with the courtyard. And it is super close to the park enterence.Hope this helps.

Sounds ideal for what we want. The best we could get at HIFS was 140. The $75 difference buys a lot of food so we don't really have the same choice. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
