courtyard by marriott lbv

just wondering if anyone had stayed at the Courtyard by marriott lbv recently any comments good or bad would be most appreciated.

We returned from a two week stay there end August beginning of September this year.

I have read lots of negative comments on the US Boards but we found it absolutely fine.

Our room was on the second floor in the wing overlooking the swimming pool.

Its was clean and extremely spacious. There were five of us sharing - we had a rollaway bed for dd and there was plenty of room for us all. We also had a balcony

The staff were all friendly and very efficient.

We didn't have a car - but the bus service to the disney resorts suited us fine. The buses are really old and battered but they pick you up from outside the hotel for each park every half hour. The only problem is for Magic Kingdom they take you to the TTC instead of straight to the park like the Disney Resort busses.

The managers hold a happy hour from 5-6 every evening when they serve free soft drinks, beer and snacks.

Ten minute very pleasant walk to Downtown Disney and 15 mins to Crossroads.

thanks very much for the info, we like the sound of the happy hour. At the moment we are booked to stay next May at the Rosen Plaza on intl drive but after reading negative reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor.com we are seriously thinking about changing hotels. As we have never stayed on LBV before we do not know what restaurants etc there are in that area, if there are, can you walk to them or do you need to use the car. once again thanks in advance.

There are a few different restaurants in the Crossroads area including Pebbles, TGI Fridays, a Pizza restaurant and Macdonalds. This is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. I can't comment on any of these restaurants as we did not eat at any of them.

Of course Downtown Disney with all the restaurants available there is just a ten minute walk away.

The Front Desk at the hotel have various different offer vouchers for quite a few of the restaurants.

We stayed here last month & would definitely return. The staff were wonderful & DD & DN fell in love with Cubby the Bear & Tipsy Parrott who frequented the happy hour. THe "go did good bagels & yogurt for breakfast on the run. We walked to Cross Roads in about 10-15mins & DD in the same. Could't fault the hotel. We requested an extra pillow from housekeeping & it was delivered within 10minutes. We had a 2nd floor tower room overlooking the front of the hotel, but unless the balcony door was open you could not hear the traffic. A room a little higher would have given us a good view of the MK fireworks, so instead it was kneeling on a table on the 14th floor for that!
