Coupons Users- Do you feel you are treated unfairly?

I've never had a problem with using two coupons on a b1g1, or using a coupon that states $1 off 2 items.

Truthfully, the store is getting credit back from the manufacturer or who ever distributed the coupon in the first place. The store doesn't loose out. They only loose out when it's fraudulent, because there's no where to get the money back.

I'm in CT. None of our grocery stores will let you use a second coupon on BOGO items. I think the logic is that you are only paying for one, so you can only use one coupon.

My problem is that I had previously had NO problem using two coupons. Lack of consistency is what I hate! Either accept them all the time or not. Don't pick and choose.

The simple solution for me was to "profile" cashiers. I scope out the age and gender of all available cashiers and make a guess as to who will give me the least crap. Not going to say what my preferences are...

Actually Publix is the one store where I HAVE had a problem. They have BOGO sales all the time and I purchased 2 cartons of OJ and tried to use two coupons. She said I could only use one since I'm only buying one. I questioned it but she wouldn't budget so I said fine just use the one coupon. Then I walked over to customer service and returned both OJ's. The cool thing was they gave me the full price back, even though I had used the one coupon :cool1:

Actually the way Publix rings up their BOGO sales is to make each item half price so you ARE buying 2 items and each one is ringing up separately. I love this because often times I don't need 2 of whatever is on sale and I can just buy 1 at half price instead of 2 at the price of 1.

They should take 2 coupons for 2 items purchases on a BOGO.

Interesting, my publix does one at full, second at 0.00. And ive never had a problem using 2 coupons. I guess its up to each publix to decide.

Walgreen's recently released a coupon policy...
http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp

It specifically covers the issue where the coupon value is MORE than the product cost.
n the event that any item's selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

I think it is a well written policy and I wish more companies would have a written policy for the public.

I agree on the frustration of inconsistency "but you let me last week" doesn't fly when a cashier says no. I had that today with Rainbow for a B1G1 sale, cashier wouldn't let me use two $1/1 coupons since "you got one item free". Yet I did another transaction and used a $2/2 on the same items.. not even a second glance or raised eyebrow.

Sams club does not accept ANY coupons, and only accepts discover and debit cards

Sams Club accepts MasterCard. We use it everytime we shop there.

We stopped shopping at WalMart years ago. It's loud, dirty, crowded and the cashier customer service is horrible. Not all cashiers, but enough that I don't want to deal with going there anymore. Coupons seemed to be an issue everytime we used them too. I've never had an issue using a coupon at Target, other than some of the Target coupons don't scan for the right amount ($2 off might ring up as $.50 off). I try to watch them carefully & point it out to the cashier. I always look at my receipt before I leave the store and have had to go to CS a couple of times to resolve the problem and get the rest of the coupon amount back.

Interesting article!

Coupon Fraud Grows

The use of counterfeit coupons for groceries and other items has risen as budget-conscious consumers increasingly get their coupons from online sources.

Only about one-tenth of 1% of the 3.3 billion coupons redeemed in 2009 were fakes, according to NCH Marketing Services Inc., a coupon clearing house. But the number of fraudulent redemptions increased by 14% from 2008

I love the fake coupon for a "Free LCD Display." As IF! Hell would freeze over before they offered a COUPON for a LCD DISPLAY! LOL

There are different rules for the way Publix accepts coupons and does it's promotions in states other than Florida.

If you'd like to visit, Iheartpublix.com you will find out how to shop there, making the most for your money. She also explains the differences between FL and other states.

So you are both correct, in each of your respected State.

When using coupons, I always try to go to teenage boy cashiers (or "young adult" men) if there are any. They just scan the coupons, and push them through if they beep. If there are no younger men I'll go to older men, or teenage/young adult girls. I always avoid middle aged women if I can. They always seem to be the ones that act like you are taking food out of their kids' mouths by using a coupon.

I don't try to scam anyone or use a coupon the wrong way. And I don't buy like 100 of the same item. So I really don't feel like being treated like a criminal for no reason, and I will scope out my cashiers.

That is true for most Publix stores, but not all. Florida stores, do true BOGO's- buy 1 @ full price, get 1 for 0.00. FL stores and some GA ones (coastal and towns near FL line), don't double .50 or less coupons either. Mine is one of those . But, I still like Publix. I refuse to buy groceries from Walmart. I only go in there as a last resort.

As for Target, I don't think many of their cashiers have any clue about their coupon policy. I worked in a Target for a couple months when I was 18. I was "trained" for cashier, guest service desk, and another position where I sat behind the 2 way mirror and investigated reports where manual mark downs had been done by cashiers and made sure the current sale prices were posted. The position was called GSS, but no one seemed to know what those letters stood for...:confused3 I still don't know!:rotfl: In my "training" coupons were never mentioned. Not even for the guest services position. I scanned everything that was handed to me. If it didn't work, I would have not known how to to an override without a manager.
The whole experience there was chaotic.
