I just looked through all four booklets of cruise docs based on what I read on another thread.

That thread said that there would be coupons in each of our docs for the AAA soda mug.....Well....no coupons!

How do we prove that we are entitled to these mugs?

If you booked with AAA lately, how did you get your mugs? My TA says they will be in my stateroom(the mugs not the coupons) but she has proven to be basically clueless regarding all things disney.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sonya,

We too booked with AAA but we DO have a coupon in with our cruise documents. It is just one coupon good for 1 mug for each person in our party.

My AAA TA also told me that the mugs will be in the stateroom. She said if they aren't in the stateroom to go to guest services and that we would be given them. She said that someone else she booked recently hadn't received them in her room and never mentoined it to anyone while on the ship but my TA wanted me to know that if they weren't in the stateroom that I should request them. I was also told we will get one mug for everyone in the party and I just read the inside cover of my AAA DCL brochure and it clearly states "Drink your fill with a specially-designed souvenir mug for each member of your party, with unlimited soft drinks....." It says it is valid for sailings through Dec 2002.

I haven't sailed yet so I hope all of this is correct. Hope this helps.

They are NOT placed in your stateroom. One person in your party (which is the first person listed on your reservation) will have the AAA Diamond Card in their guest travel booklet (cruise documents)

On the AAA Diamond Card it will list where to redeem the coupon for the soda mugs. It will list how many soda mugs your party is entitled to. (one per person)

Sonya make sure you check all your travel booklets for the AAA Diamond Card.

Thank you gottaluvdisney! I would have trusted my TA that the mugs would be in the room waiting for us. It's so nice to know ahead of time so that I can be prepared.

Gottaluvdisney: Right you are...we do have that card. I guess I was looking for something else. Like a coupon with big writing that said "turn this in for mug". Not a page absolutely covered with writing which says in the fine print to turn it in for the mugs. There was one coupon in DH's packet which is good for the whole party. Thanks for pointing it out for me!

I'm a AAA travel agent (not a clueless one!) ;) and yes you do have to use the voucher. That's too bad that you had an agent that didn't tell you what to look for, or actually go over the documents with you! I go over docs with all my clients and tell them what each of the vouchers are for and what all the information in the packet is!
Have a great cruise!!

luv2tvl: I hope you didn't take offense at my post...I certainly didn't mean to imply that all AAA TA's (or any TA's for that matter) are clueless. I have just found that regarding disney matters and the cruise...I am more informed than she is by a long shot!

She was no help at all and the only reason I transferred the ressies to AAA was for the mugs....Next time I may use Dreams as I had to call AAA to tell them I was entitled to a FL Res Discount and many other things.

It's all straightened out now....I found my coupon!

Thanks to all who posted to help!

None taken!! I know there are some agents out there that are not so bright! ;)
It's just too bad that you had one of the "not so bright ones".
Have fun with your free soda!

In January, we sailed on DCL and we had made the reservations with our AAA office. I had read that they were offering the refillable mug as the 2002 cruise benefit but we did not have the page in our cruise documents.

I pointed it out to our TA and she called DCL and they made a notation on our reservations. They were supposed to have our AAA Diamond page ready for pickup at the cruise terminal when we checked in, but that didn't happen either.

I went to the Guest Services onboard and they verified that our cruise was booked through AAA and they gave me a voucher to use at the Promenade Lounge and I received both mugs.

As a matter of fact, I looked through all of our old cruise documents and the AAA Diamond page was only included in two out of the five cruises we booked with them. DCL is supposed to include them when they print the documents, but they miss it now and then.

hope that helps
