I know Disneys Grand Floridian has a couples spa service, any other recommendations at any other hotels or local spas?

I think the two new hotels

Ritz-Cartlon

and the Gaylord

probably do - they are very upscale resorts - like the Grand Floridian - but some people think they are better.

Thanks, I mentioned it to FI and he wants to wait and see how money is going. I guess if we can't afford it for the honeymoon we can always go to a local spa and have it done after all of the wedding stuff is over.

Definitely the Ritz-Carlton. Their spa is just amazing, and they have a lovely cafe area that's perfect for a light refreshment after your treatment.

Two thumbs WAY up for the R-C. Easily the best - and most blissfully relaxing - spa I have seen.

Anyone know how fast these things book up. Could we wait to make a appt. when we get to Orlando or do you have to do it way in advance?

I would book it in advance, if at all possible. The Ritz-Carlton has an enormous spa, though it has a very intimate feel to it, as if you are the only guests, but I would still book ahead if you can. And be sure to arrive early.......the Ritz has Women Only areas and Men Only areas that you MUST take advantage of. I didn't tour the Men's area (obviously) but the Women's lounge is spectacular.

If you try the Grand Floridian spa, definitely book in advance. They do have more limited availability.

I wish there were something like Earthsavers Spa down there. Can anyone recommend a spa that is sorta freestanding and not with a hotel or something?

You ask for a couple spa - that is going to eliminate places like OKW and VWL that are more reasonable - because their rooms only have one table - not two.

OKW is very reasonable but as I say only one table - so a couples spa is not possible - now if you were staying at OKW they could come to your room and do it there - more expensive - but I think still more reasonable than GF.

this is not a full spa - that is only now at GF - but they have a masseuse - which is what I think you want.

I am certain there are such places in Orlando - it is a fairly big city - but it would be off-property. Of course R-C and Gaylord are off sites - but they have an excellent reputation.

You would need to research you place well and ask the BB if they were any complaints against them before you go off-site. Or I would.

Fairfield Star Island Resort offers Spa facilities for men & women. Their posted email address is: thespa@star-island.com
I haven't used their spa services but it's been around since at least the mid-1990's and has been reviewed positively in some travel mags. They offer different Spa packages, including a Honeymoon package for guests staying at their resort.

Wherever you are considering visiting, contact them. Request that a price list be emailed or faxed to you, for all of their services. The Disney hotel spas will do this and probably, so will any others. Ask each if they have couple's massages, together in the same room, whether in your hotel room or in the spa itself. Then you would have some info to compare, especially if you need to budget for this, for your honeymoon trip. HTH!
