DH and I are going with family to WDW and we will be staying at the BWV. I was hoping to surprise him with a couples massage while we are there.

Has anyone had a massage at BW or would you suggest somewhere else? I see a lot of people like SSR. Also, any idea how much couples massages cost?

Thanks for the help.

There are 2 companies that own the spas/salons/fitness centers that are on property: Niki Bryan Spas and Mandara.

The BW & SSR are owned by Niki Bryant. The massages at BW are very limited. I don't see a couples massage listed at BW on their website. www.relaxedyet.com SSR seams to have more selection. The site has prices and services at the various locations.

The Mandara spa is located at the dolphin. www.mandaraspa.com Services & prices are on the site. The mandara spa may be closer to you if you're staying at BW.

I have been to the SPA at SSR and S&D. Nikki Bryant's SPA @ SSR is far much better! Plus the facilities are much nice too.

Enjoy!

I would recommend the Mandara spa is located at the dolphin hotel. DH and I went last trip and had separate massages, but met in the common room before/after. I'm sure they'd be able to accommodate the couples massage and you'd have an excellent time.

The BW doesn't have a spa; they will do limited treatments in a room probably located in the fitness facility. If you want to feel pampered, spend the money and go to one of the two spas on property. Since you are staying at BW, I would go to the Mandara at the Dolphin. It's a short walk. While I do like Niki Bryant's spa at SSR a little better, I don't like it that much better to warrant traveling to it if I'm staying near the Mandara.

I wholeheartedly agree! I have been to both spas as well and thoroughly enjoyed the Spa at SSR more. The staff at Mandara seemed incredibly snobby, couldn't have been bothered to go above and beyond, and to be quite honest, didn't provide the services I paid for. I paid for a 60 minute massage and got 45 minutes.

On the other hand, my husband and I had a couples massage at SSR for our honeymoon in October last year and it was sensational. The staff went out of their way to make the both of us feel welcomed, took their time in explaining what our experience would consist of, maintained the professionalism you have come to exspect from Disney, and let me tell you....that massage was 90 minutes of PURE BLISS!! The room was beautiful and the facilities were wonderful. After your massage, you can stay as long as you want to in order to take advantage of having full use of everything from the sauna to the hot tub. Worth the money!

Quick question for those who have gone to SSR....do they automatically apply a gratuity to the bill? If so how much?

I saw that Mandara automatically adds 20% gratuity to the bill.

Thanks, we're planning our first spa visit this year.

Thanks for all the great advice! It's been years since I've been to WDW. I know I could walk to the Dolphin, but if I choose to go the SSR route, does anyone know how long it would take us to get over there from BWV?

As with PP I'd be curious to know if SSR automatically adds on its gratuity.

SSR never added the gratuity on any of my treatments but I haven't been in 2 years.

SSR is probably a 10 minute drive.

DH and I had a really bad experience at SSR and won't be back. It was far too rough.

Everybody is so helpful! I decided to go with SSR for our couples massage.

Now does anyone have any therapists they'd like to recommend? :)
