Couples massage

Has anyone done this before? Is it worth it?

Nicolette18, if you don't get a response here, you might do a "search" of the Resorts board. Plenty of folks on that board have done all sorts of spa treatments at Disney's resorts (and also at non-Disney resorts).

DH and I haven't had a couples massage while at Disney but did while we were in Hawaii and it was well wortt the money. It was great and we would definately do it again.

We had a couples massage at the Spa at the Grand Floridian. And honestly, we wouldn't do it again. :sad2:

The couples room we were in was just two massage rooms with a archway in between. I've seen photos of couples massages where the tables are side by side....or you could at least hold hands. Ours was nothing like this. It was like being in two separate rooms.

Also the lounges were really nice. They had saunas and whirlpools and nice places to relax. But they were separated by gender. A co-ed lounge would have been much nicer.

In our experience, we may as well have scheduled seperate massage treatments. And for the price (it's horribly expensive :scared1: ), we didn't think it was worth it.

Ditto.

We've gone while at Disney, here at home and on our honeymoon in Hawaii. Disney's was the only one where I don't think it was worth the cost. Maybe check out the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin?

Has anyone had the couples massage on the Disney's Island Castaway Cay? It's available as an excursion for the Disney Cruise Line. I'm considering this to add to our honeymoon on the Disney Wonder. Just wanted to get some feedback, Thanks!

My DH & I have done both the Couples Massage on Castaway Cay and the Couples Spa Villas aboard the Magic and Wonder.

The couples massage onshore was in a massage cabana, you do lay right next to each other. The day we had ours it was breezey so it was chilly. They closed the front to cut down on the wind so the view was obstructed. It was in December. The massage itself was WONDERFUL. They catered to us & I felt so pampered.

Aboard the Magic we did the Couples Spa Villas. We were taken to a private spa suite where we sat outside on a chaise watching the water. They did a foot treatment then left us to soak in the hot tub for 20-25 min. We then went inside to the massage tables, we had picked a facial/massage combo. After they were done they brought us tea, water & fresh fruit. We wrapped up in robes and hung out on the chaise cuddling for a bit. Then at our leisure we got dressed, paid the bill & left. We were so relaxed & it was very private.

I would do both again even though they are pricey. I felt we truly relaxed & enjoyed each other!

my husband & i did the couples massage at the mandara spa at the swan & dolphin the day after our wedding & it was so relaxing & romantic. worth every dime.

Was it like you were in 2 seperate rooms like the PP said it was at the other Disney Spas?

DF and I will be having the couples instructional massage at SSR. I'm very excited about it!

My BF and I were in DW last December. :santa: It was our first trip for both of us and we opted to do a Couples Massage. After doing the research... we chose the Mandara Spa at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. It was very pricy and it included 30 mins in a hot tub and a 50-60 min massage. The hot tub was very relaxing especially after four days straight of park hopping. The ambiance was very romantic in pure candlelight  Then we were taken to a private room where they had two massage tables and a guy and girl masseuse (sp?). We weren't close enough to hold hands, but we were next to each other in the same room. It was a nice experience to do and it's definately great to treat yourself to something like this once in a while!!! :cloud9:

our massage was done in the same room side by side, it was great. we started in the meditation room, then shared a private jacuzzi with candles, flowers & bubbles for like 30 mins before getting our hour long massages. it was awesome.
