We did it on the Hawaii to Vancouver sailing a few weeks ago. It was a nice experience. It
is in a private suite and they do have a Jacuzzi, but be warned: the water is tepid at best. If you've ever used the 'hot tubs' at any of the
Disneyland Paris hotels, you'll know what I mean. I love a nice hot tub, and a private experience was one of the factors we used in deciding to book the Couples Choice. The Jacuzzi was significantly cooler than the tubs up on the pool deck (which aren't particularly hot, but not cool enough to dissuade us from partaking). There's a control panel on the inside of the tub, but it controls bluetooth/audio. The control panel for the temperature and jets is on the outside wall of the tub near where you get in. You do have the ability to adjust it and we turned it up, but it barely got warmer by the time we had to move on to the massage portion of the show. If they make it a point to turn it back down when they reset the room, it will never really get to a toasty temperature. If they don't, the next couple was treated to a warmer tub.
When you arrive at the desk, they send you into the locker rooms to get changed. There are loungers and a sauna in there, and I spent my time in the sauna waiting to be called. She said she called my name 3 times, but I was listening carefully, and unless she whispered it, I think I actually heard them when they called me the very first time. I think this cut into our total time. It was 10 or 15 minutes past the hour when we finally made it into the suite. In reality, I think they were just running behind.
They started the experience with a foot/lower leg scrub. I have had many massages, but I've never had another person wash/scrub my feet and I have to say that was a weird experience. Not at all unpleasant... just awkward for me. I was told I have "nice feet for a man." I decided 'nice' meant 'soft,' lol. I accepted it as a compliment.
After the short foot treatment, it was time to spend some time in the jacuzzi. I think it was about 20 minutes or so. There's a shower next to the tub and it has Elemis toiletries. I think there was body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Next we moved on to our choice of massage. I did the Swedish and she did the deep tissue. I kinda wish I had tried the Hot Stone in retrospect, but at the time I really didn't know what to expect. It was very nice and I was very sorry when it was over. They give a soft little ring on a zen type bell to let you know your massage has come to an end.
Lastly we went back to the little jacuzzi room and had a cup of tea while relaxing on the day bed. While relaxing in the daybed you can watch the sea from the window (although if it is cold outside, it is a bit foggy from the temperature difference and the jacuzzi). The condensation actually causes droplets to form on the ceiling and occasionally fall to the floor below when they get big enough. There's a sort of decorative canvass 'drop ceiling' suspended above and we could hear that it was catching most of the random drips and none could fall on the day bed.
They'll come in to tell you when the experience is complete, and they will present you with two separate bills to sign. Each person has their own invoice listing any scrubs or extras that they purchased, and this way you can add an additional tip (above the automatic 18%) for each individual masseuse.
Then it is back to the locker/changing rooms and you're released back into the wild.
