We have 350 pts across 4 direct contracts (one master, all Sept UY) - a mix of 2-100 pt BLT and 1-100 and 1-50 pt VGC.

Since I seem to think we have money burning a hole in our pocket I'm thinking about adding on via resale at either BCV (stayed there once and would like an 11 month window) or SSR (like the low price). I seem to remember some administrative downside of buying resale, but I don't remember what it was (it wasn't the new use restrictions - don't really care about those). I understand that if I have different UYs I'd have different banking and borrowing timelines.

So 2 questions...

1) Is there some difficulty on combining points across UYs/contracts when making a reservation at 7 months? I think I can currently take X points from BLT and Y points from VGC on the same ressie made at 7 months. Could I do the same if I have a Feb UY at BCV or would I have to split up the reservation to draw even point nights from each master contract?

2) If I can get the same Sept UY via resale (and follow the instructions about having it titled the same), will that resale contract really just look like a 4th add-on to my current master to where I can mix and match at the 7 month window?

What else am I missing/forgetting?

the underlined part is correct - you could not combine pts for a single night's stay if the UY months are different. (well...not without using up the once-per-year transfer for both contracts.)

DVC can change the rules at any time...but historically, yes.

We have two contracts and two UY's. Rather than transferring or "combining" points, we tend to borrow on the contract we are making the reservation with. We then bank the points from the other one and use those points the following year. Of course, if you're looking at a small add-on, this strategy might not be possible.

Having contracts in different use years is like being two entirely different members when it comes to reserving, banking, borrowing, transferring. You also get separate dues statements and if you have monthly withdrawal of dues from your account, you will get two different withdrawals. To use both contracts for one reservation you either have to transfer points from one use year to the other (resulting in using your one per use year transfer for each of those contract use years) or make a reservation for some of the nights with one contract and the rest of the nights with the other and then link the reservatons.

If you buy in resale the same use year, it can be made part of your same contract sequence and thus all the points would be combined for use as long as the names on both deeds are the same (you cannot add a new owner to the mix and have them combined). However, make sure that Disney is specifically informed you want the contract joined with your exisitng contracts before you close on the resale. In other words, do not assume it will occur automatically.
