Couple quick questions about room discounts

Hi all!
I am planning my next trip to wdw (which unfortunately won't be until next summer) and I had a few questions about discounts that I was hoping the lovely people on this board could answer for me.
1. When you have a room only discount does that mean you have to book a room only or that the discount just applies to your room and nothing else like tics or dining?
2. Does your entire trip have to fall within the dates of the discount to get it or is it applied to the qualifying dates?
3. What are the chances that they will be putting out codes next year like the ones they have for this spring/summer?

You can book using a room only discount count code and turn that in to a package (add dining and tix). The discount would only be for the room rate.

With room only codes, they typically apply by night so if you start on a date that's included but end on ones that are not, you won't get the discount for those nights.

When the deal is a package discount, then it is usually applied to the entire reservation as long as the trip starts during an eligible date.

I can't answer the last one but I can say that I think some of the codes that are out this year are not quite as good as last year. Disney has said that they will be cutting back on discounts and IMO, they are doing it in a gradual way so that people will handle it better.

For example, last year, the deal for free dining had QSDP for values, but DDP for mods and deluxes. This year, the newest pin codes give only DDP for deluxe stays. Its still "free dining' but not to the degree it was.
