We are having a plated reception. My question is about the "Juniors". Do they get an adult entree or a child's entree? I see where they have kids meals for the younglings, but no in between :confused3 Lastly... I know our adults will get the bar package.. but with the children ranging from 3 - 13, are they charged the 24.50 for 5 hours soda and water?
Thanks!

"Juniors" is Disney's way of charging you a lower per-person minimum for guests too young to drink but too old for kids' meals. They eat the same thing the adults eat. If you think they won't like what you have for adults, you can certainly add items to the menu that will appeal to them, but nobody's going to stop adults from eating that Mickeyroni! If you are paying for a package bar, yes, under-21s will be charged at the rate for the soda and water package.

Thank you! That's what I thought:)

So I do not start a whole new thread I hope this is appropriate to ask a menu related question here?
The a la carte plated menu lists appetizers, salads, entrees....do guests get to choose everything besides the main entree and if so how will the staff know which app or salad belongs to which person if there are 40 people?
Does this mean everyone gets to choose any entree or do we pick only a few and they choose from a smaller selection? This is very confusing for some reason.
Thank you everyone.

No, if we're talking about a plated dinner, YOU choose what guests eat for everything but the main course. And some people even choose the main course for their guests by only offering one. Usually couples who want to offer a choice of entree will put a card in with the invite that asks guests to pick one of,say, three options. That way they know how many of each choice to tell Disney to make. Then they use a seating chart and place cards that have codes or colors to tell the servers who gets what.

It is possible to have guests decide on the spot what they want, but this means you need to pay for Disney to basically make one of each choice for every guest just in case they want it, and it is very expensive.

If you're really worried about guests not having a choice for appetizer, salad, etc. you can do a buffet with multiples of these things. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the clarification. I think I could become a Disboard addict!

Lurkyloo, if you choose a duet entree, that will be the only entree offered though, correct? He can't choose to offer the duet entree with a chicken entree etc...My brother has selected the butter poached lobster and filet which is listed as a duet.

It is. I did that at mine. But I only had 12 people at mine (counting myself and my husband) and we did it to help meet mins. I wouldn't recommend it for a large party as it is very expensive for a larger group as noted. Also the guests only got to chose their entree. I chose the other courses. I honestly don't remember any other bride/vrer at the time of my wedding choosing that option because of the expense, I think I might be a rarity. (I did have a rare small group as well, I think you can't even get away with it these days)

Right. A duo plate is a great way to offer more than one protein for your plated meal. It's not as expensive as "crown service" (what justlook3 did) but is usually more expensive than serving just one protein. So your brother could do lobster and chicken or beef and chicken, but if he wants all three, I'd recommend finding out which guests want chicken and then just ordering X number of beef and lobster and X number of chicken (or chicken + another protein).
