1. we fly into mco is there a superwalmart/target on the way to purchase groceries?

2. my dd would love to bbq at vero beach however we are staying in an studio can we call housekeeping and get a grill flipper from them since a studio doesn't have them normally and a couple of real plates instead of paper?

3. how hard is it to book the character breakfasts and is there a discount with my dvc card??

There is a walmart near vero beach-I think on Route 1. They have area's across the street from VB that you can grill. The breakfast with character's-I think you book before your arrival. I hope this helps. When are you planning on going down ? JP

There is a big grocery store in a plaza after getting off the hiway and well before you go over the bridge to Orchid Island. It's about 15 minutes from the resort. There's also a Walmart about 10 minutes away, and Walgreens or CVS that has a decent grocery section. Our experience travelling at Easter and Thanksgiving is that character dining can be booked before you arrive, but isn't necessary unless you have to eat at peak times. The bbq grills are very far from the resort, across the street. I wouldn't recommend using them unless you plan to eat at the picnic tables near there, as your food will be cold before getting back to your room.

thanks for all your replies all your info helped me out...

Nemo..we will be arriving at vb may 26 to may 30. This will be our 1st visit to vb and are very excited!!

1- Publix's is the closest to VB and it's proably your best bet to buy your groceries in the VB area. It is North on Rt 1 proably about 4 miles on left after you turn onto Rt 1 - there's a Walgreens at that intersection too.

2- I agree with poster above - nice but plan on making it a cookout rather than cooking and returning to your room. I believe implements can be signed out at the rental/recreation window near Bleachers (pool area)

3 - I don't recall any discounts offered for the CB. I think I've seen you post that your going near memorial day? To be safe I would call and make a reservation @ 772-234-2000 ask for dining.
