Couple of TIW questions

I clicked on a Tables in Wonderland link in another thread to read up on the card. It stated that the card was good for 1 year from the date of purchase. Did I not read somewhere that the card was good for 13 months? Has that changed or am I mixing it up with something else?

Also, if the card is good for 10 people and you are a group of say 12. Can you pick 10 people for which the card applies to in the group and keep 2 people (the children) at full price?

It is generally 13 months, but Disney has always officially said "1 Year." I bought a TiW in he middle of May of 2012, and it expires June 30, 2013. This gives them some wiggle room depending upon when in the month you purchase the card.

Also, if the card is good for 10 people and you are a group of say 12. Can you pick 10 people for which the card applies to in the group and keep 2 people (the children) at full price?

Likely, you'll be able to use it for everybody...or you can get a card for your spouse, (I think $25 more?) and then be covered.

Spouse/Domestic Partner card is $50. Same fee as a replacement card.

I've always heard that it is good for the remainder of the month in which you buy it and then a full 13 months after that. So, if you bought it 2/1/13, it would be good until 3/31/14??? (14 mths) Just wondering.

I think it's the month you purchase plus 12 months. My current TiW card was purchased 10/14/11 and expires 11/30/12.

This expiration method is because the TiW card was originally only available by mail order. The card was active at time it was placed in the mail. FL Residents and Annual Passholders can still purchase the TiW mail order if they want to. DVC Member can only purchase the card at WDW.

We bought ours 12-1-11 and it is good until 1-31-13

Thank you all so much for your prompt responses. I thought I had read something about 13 months and as we only go to WDW once a year for 4-5 days, I would only be interested in purchasing it if this was the case.

Also, being cheap, I really do not wish to spend and extra $50 on a spousal card. Has anyone actually used their card for a table of more than 10 people and how was it handled?

They are strict with the number of guests. We had one TIW card (in Bill's name) and we had 11 of us. They gave the discount to ten of us and one was full price. It was a character breakfast and we were all age ten or older, so there wasn't any difference in the prices to be discounted. I suppose you could tell them you would pay full price for two kids.

We bought our TIW card on 10/15/12 and it is good through 11/30/13. Thirteen and a half months.
