Traveling to WDW this Spring.
Do you still get a kttw card along with your magic band?

If I have picked FP+ in advance, can I still do FP?

Say I have a FP+ time window of 12p-1p, will I be able to get a regular FP during that one hr window?

I am staying on site. Our friends are staying off-site but will buy 4 day park passes. Will they be able to get magic bands and book FP+ in advance?

Thank you in advance for the helpful replies.
I have always come to these boards for the inside scoop and have learned so many helpful hints.
I do feel unprepared this go round since I know how the old FP worked but now trying to learn about the new thing.

1 & 2 - There is no more "regular" FP available in the parks.
3- Nope. (Things can change at any time, however.)

ruh roh - no more FP only FP+

So I can only get FP+ for three attractions per day. Do I just wait in the plain old fashion standby line for everything else?

Is that correct?

How easy is it to get a fp+ the day of your park visit? Say we change our minds and want to go to a different park than originally planned. Then we have to cancel FP+ via app and load in new ones.

So it makes sense to get to rope drop for the shortest old fashion standby lines and then get fp+ for 3 attractions in the busier afternoon hours?

Yep. That's correct.

In addition:
All 3 FP+ in a given day must be for the same park.
In some parks, the FP+ are "tiered" so that you can only choose one headliner attraction and two minor attractions.

Now it seems I need to know in advance which park I am heading into well in advance.

I stopped using DDP because I was tired of sticking to a set plan/ADRs Before you say it, I know WDW is for the planner. :thumbsup2
I found spreadsheets for our prior trips when cleaning out paperwork yesterday. The family just laughed at me. :confused3

This FP+ thing may put me over the edge.

Please reassure me that FP+ is a good thing.

We've been very happy with FP+ and found that we don't have to worry about rushing to get to the headliners but can enjoy ourselves in the morning and ride the bigs ones later on. We also found that we can rope drop in one park then hop to another park in the afternoon and use our FP+ there. We've also never had a problem changing our FP+ times or attractions the same day.

There are some that love the new system. But in HS and Epcot the idea you can pre-book the headliners isn't completely true. Those two parks have tiers and you can only pick one from the top tier. In Epcot the top tier includes Soarin', TT, Malstrom, the character spot and Illuminations. In HS the top tier includes TSM, RnR, Fantasmic, Beauty & Beast show, any maybe one more, I can't remember. Rope drop is still needed to get in all the headliners, if that is important to you, without long waits.

To the op, I saw your reaction to your initial question's answer, and thought to myself how this must look to those who haven't been around in awhile and are new to the whole FP+ thing...Yep, it's definitely a Whole New World!

We just all have to hang in there together and hope that indeed there'll be a great big beautiful tomorrow on this carousel of progress they're putting us on!!:grouphug:

1. No, not unless you ask for it. And there are numerous posts on here that say they have asked for a KTTW but were denied one.

2. There is no more FP- and no more paper fastpasses. There is only FP+.

3. There are no more regular FP (if by that you mean the paper ones)

4. As of right now they will not have access to Magic Bands or FP+ booking ahead of time. They can book reservations at the parks.

I book FP+ ahead sometimes but I have had no problem just doing them the morning I go to the park. Haven't done that since December though.

Huge thank you for all the info/answers.
I really appreciate it.
