Hey dis got a few questions that I was wondering if you could help me with

1. What's changed in the last 7 years
Lots!! Ratatouille's The Ride is due to open soon, possibly in July (along with a restaurant and shop) Toy Story Play Land has opened (with Parachute Jump, Slinky Dog and RC Racer plus some great theming). The park is looking fantastic although there are less random character meets with organised queues being trialled (less scrums :thumbsup2) and there are also less shows with all of the stages being under utilised. There is now an indoor queued meet for the Princesses. These have all been changed since I started going 4 years ago so I'm sure the more seasoned visitors will be able to add to this list! There is also now a great night time show with fireworks and water projections on the Castle shortly after park closing at night. Its not to be missed

2. When does Christmas start#
It starts the 1st week of November, normally the 1st Sunday and of course there are three bonfire spectacular nights staged on Lake Disney which are on the 3rd, 5th and 7th of November this year.

3. what is Christmas like
In one word - AMAZING!! It IMO is the most magical time of year at DLP. There is a brand new tree which has a nightly lighting ceremony, there is a Christmas cavalcade, the whole park is transformed and Santa holds court in the old site of Woody's Round Up in Frontierland. Plus all the characters are out in their Christmas finery. Snow even falls on Main St. Truly amazing!

4. How much should I be looking to spend for 2 adults for a few days from London
Christmas isn't the cheapest time to go - we are paying €700 for four nights at the NPB for 1 adult, two kids (one over 7). There are some good deals at the minute with up to 2 nights free.

5. Having just been to wdw is it worth it
I aven't been to WDW so I'm no help on this, sorry!

5. What are characters like as I have heard a lot of bad stuff ( they are one of main reasons for us to be going)
We have had some fantastic interactions with Cast Members and characters alike. There are quite a lot of characters to be found with quite a few being about in WDS before the Stars and Cars parade. The list of scheduled meets are on the weekly park schedule if you want to take a look perhaps on the official site in the parade schedule part and it will give you an idea of who you would be likely to see. The descent of the stairs in DLH is also another great way to meet characters.

Hope this helped :goodvibes

Its open to debate but for me onsite is my favourite. I feel really immersed in the magic onsite although there are 4 partner hotels which are located by the Santa Fe & Cheyenne so shuttle bus times are about the same - less then 5 minutes. I've only stayed at the Dream Castle offsite but if there's anything you want to know feel free to ask and there's loads of lovely disers who can tell you about the other partner hotels and off site hotels further out.
From what I gather from WDW guide books the hotels in DLP would be much closer to the park. The theming in some of the hotels are great with the Santa Fe and Sequoia Lodge having been refurbed recently and the Newport Bay is in the middle of being done up.

I think Kizzy has answered most of your questions :thumbsup2

I like on-site too - once you're there, there really is no need to get on a bus/train etc. You can walk easily between both parks and the hotels. I love being able to go back to the hotel during the day for a rest without it feeling like we're missing out.

As for Christmas - we went for the first time in December and it was without doubt one of our best holidays ever :thumbsup2 You can get an idea of what to expect on my trip report on my signature.

Good luck planning :goodvibes
