We have decided to get the dining plan for our trip in September. We will be there September 10-20. When we go ahead and sign up for the plan will this cover us from the 10-19th as we leave the morning of the 20th or will we also have to pay for the 20th? I have restaurants all figured out, but I feel like it would be a waste for us to not be able to use our credits the last day and I really don't think we would double up on credits another day to make up for what we would miss on check out day.

Next question. I know a few restaurants ask for a credit card to hold your reservation. Do they charge the card and your DP and refund the card? I am worried(my luck) that I will end up charged twice for the meals. Thanks in advance!

the dining plan is only for nights booked 5 night 5 dining plans.credit is only to secure the res. not to charge.

You will be covered on the 20th as well. You will be there for 10 nights, so each person will have 10TS, 10 QS, and 10 snack credits to use beginning on your arrival day until the end of your departure day. :)

All restaurants need a credit card hold now. You will not be charged on your credit card if you show up for your ADR or you cancel within 24 hours. :goodvibes

When you purchase DDP, you receive 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack credit for each "night" of your reservation for each guest. Your scenario, 30 of each. Some dining events require 2 TS credits, therefore you would probably not have any TS credits left at the end of your stay (we never do). You might, however, have a few snacks left, or a CS, which we always use up at our resort, for breakfast or snacks on the way home.
As for the ADR's that require a credit card, your credit card will only be charged if you do not show up for, or cancel, your reservation. At every ADR, the first thing your server will ask is if you are on a dining plan, and will you be using it for the meal. So, don't worry you'll never be double charged.
We have never been to Disney, without using the DDP!
:thumbsup2

All DP credits can be used until midnight on day of departure. They are activated as soon as you check-in. :-)

As others have said, you may start using your credits as soon as you check in, and they are good until 11:59 pm the day you check out. I think you will find you have PLENTY of food. Unless you want to worry about trying to use up credits the last day, use them from the time you check in, as you will be less hungry by day 5 than you are on day 1!:lmao:
