Couple of Booking Questions

Hi everyone!

It's been a long time since I posted on this board!! Been to WDW four times myself but this will be the first time that I am planning and booking the trip for the family!!

So we are looking to book for February 2017 staying at OKW (first time at a deluxe!!) with the free dining plan.

Firstly since we are booking online, is there a point in the booking process where you can put in a request for a room close to the main building?

Also if we just pay a deposit now, is the price of the holiday guaranteed? i.e. Could the price of the holiday increase?

Firstly, depending on who you book with, I think you will find it's in the terms and conditions that the price could change (say if there was a mistake online). But, generally, once you have booked, the price you have been quoted is the one you will pay. If there has been a pricing error, they have to offer you the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund.

As far as requesting a room near Hospitality House, there is no option during the booking process to request that (it is only a booking category for DVC members - all other requests are just that, requests!) You can request it during online check-in or you could fax a request to the resort 3 days before check-in but. like I say, it is just a request.

I just wanted to highlight this, as I've seen people get really upset about not getting the area they requested over the past couple of years, as they forget there is no guarantee. They do what they can, but hotel room allocations are a black art!

Good luck with the request. We decided not to request an area at SSR on our first trip, and I'm so glad. It wasn't where I'd have asked for, but we loved the room and the location!

We are going to book with Disney directly, I was just curious to know if it was likely to change as we will be paying the rest later!

And I totally understand that it will be just a request, if we don't get close to the main building it's not the end of the world!!

Don't forget to use quidco (if you use it!) if you're booking direct!

Just to say most cash bookings don't get the HH blocks as it is a booking category for DVC members and usually sells out.

Millers Road is a good alternative to request.
