This is in our paper today. Apparently a 24 year old "mother" and her boyfriend left her 2 year old child alone in a motel room while they went swimming. Horrible, right? Well it gets worse...they went to a swimming pool at a hotel down the road!

The child wandered into the hallway, crying, where another guest found the child and called security.

What the heck is wrong with people. I know there are stupid people out there, but this is about as idiotic as it comes.

I am seriously concerned about parents of this generation. I've seen cats and dogs(and gerbils!) who were better parents. How do you get to be 24yo and not know how to take care of a child? It's not like they are aliens that show up at your door unannounced.

I hope they throw the book at the mother. Shame! Shame!

I just read an article right on the wdwinfo Disney news page.. stated that a couple left their 2 and 4 year old foster children alone at Caribbean Beach for a few hours while they were at the pool with their nephew.

Oh, and the lady works as a school counselor!

What is wrong with people?! Didn't any of these folks ever hear of children abducted at hotels? That Madeleine McCann story was HUGE just a couple years back.

I can do you one better. This week a "mother" and I use the term lightly, was arrested for child endangerment for leaving her two young children in a hotel room alone so she could go meet a "client" of yoiu get my drift. AND this was the SECOND time in three weeks she had been arrested for the same thing!!

OMG!! This is just terrifing!!! SO sad!! Good Lord, and a counselor too!! I CANNOT IMAGINE! DH were just saying the other day how we would'nt even feel comfortable using the babysitting service at the Poly... it just seems like a perfect job for a Pediphile to apply for. I'm sure Disney does a very good screening, but you just never know. I'm just not that trusting... not to mention DS would pitch a HUGE fit if we left him with a stranger.
