Country Music Full/Half April 25th, 2009

Your friendly Panda will be at the half also. I need a princess to walk with, anyone interested in about a 3 hr half pace? Liz, Jeanne, Pat?

Racing Party Panda:hippie:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:oh you silly Panda! The only way I will ever do a 3 hr half is in my dreams!! I am working towards a 3:10 half in Chicago in August (I can't believe I just committed to that in writing) where it will be nice and flat, but it isn't going to happen in Nashville. It will be great to see you though!

Hey Panda - I am planning on running a 3 hr., so my running may be the pace of your walking. :rolleyes1

I'm not staying over night since it's only an hour drive from my house in Southern Kentucky. I'm going to do the Expo on friday and meet Liz and Lisa there.

Yes it will be super seeing the WISH princesses again. Missed you guys.

Happy Panda:hippie:

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

The mixer starts here...

Variety is the spice of life, so they say. (But don't ask me who they are, although I suspect they work for McCormick. :confused3) With that in mind, this week's mixer question is:

What types of XT do you like to do, and why? What are your old favorites and new discoveries? What kind of XT would you like to try?

Anecdotes and pictures are welcomed. I think we'd really like to hear about the benefits of your XT--physical, mental, social. Does it create a stronger core or more flexibility? Does it help you de-stress? Is it something you enjoy with your kids, partner, friends? It might also be helpful to know how you work XT within your walking/running schedule.

Extra points for XT activities that are unusual or have funny names or rituals. As determined by popular vote. And in case you're wondering, those points have no monetary value whatsoever. (I'll make up other disclaimers as I think of them.)

I just got my confirmation email!!!:yay::woohoo:

I'm in Corral # 28. How many Corrals will there be? If they start 1:00 - 2:00 minutes apart, does that mean I won't start running until almost an hour after the first corral? :confused3

They have a nice offer for a spagetti dinner on the General Jackson for Friday night. That would be cool, but I like the price of the Spaghetti Factory better. ;)

Let me know where the rest of you are in the pack. :teacher:

I think my daughter has strep, and I sure hope she doesn't give it to me. :sad2: I'll find out tomorrow.

Good luck WISHers!!! See ya' in two and a half weeks!!!:grouphug:

Party is at Dave and Erica's! Whooo hooo! It will be good to see you. I will be at the back and crawling over the line, but I will be there. I did my 10 miler at over 16 m pace and I figure I'll be lucky if I do it in time limit with the added joy of hills.

I have no idea what corral I'm in. I did not get the info.

Lily - Have you checked you inbox? I got my email about 8:30 CST.

Oh, and we have stayed in the Downtown Hilton across from the Sommet Center, and I can tell you that the hill between mile 2 and 3 is an uphill climb. (steady incline, I would call it :rolleyes1) Luckily, we will have just gone downhill though. ;) Plus it will be early in the race when we are still fresh. :thumbsup2

I went to the site and entered my info but the confirmation card was blank. It didn't have my name or contact info, my estimated finishing time, or my coral placement. I printed the blank one anyway and emailed the staff. Hopefully it will get fixed tomorrow.

I'm in corral 27 and Patrick is in 21.

I'm getting excited and he's getting nervous. Reality of his first full.;)

John and I are in Corral 26. I posted 2:50 as our anticipated finish time which was a bit ambitious, but I will take all the cushion I can get at this point. I feel like my entire body is breaking down right now. I'm really excited about seeing everyone, but this race is going to be quite a struggle for me. I so want this hurting to be over with.

So it sounds like the full and half participants all start together? That's how they did it at City of Oaks, but they only had about 4,000 runners.

My friend was able to view my final confirmation. I have no idea why I wasn't able to but whatever. I am in coral 1 for the half.

Wow, Corral 1! I guess you'll be finishing just about the time we're all starting :thumbsup2

Two more weeks...two more weeks...:yay::yay::yay::yay:

I am in corral 19. Somehow, I put in my time from the Applefest half and ended up with a 4:45 predicted finish time. Someone has lost their marbles...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I will be sneaking back to corral 21 with Patrick.....:rolleyes1

I am in #25. That was the plan and would have worked if these medical issues hadn't interferred. It will be ok, just a slower than the usual slow for me this go round.

Update on Old Spaghetti Factory......We finally got the chance to call them. They are not taking any kind of reservations (including their party room) at all that weekend. :sad2: They are expecting to be busy the entire weekend.:lmao:Ya think?????? So our best bet is to get there early & hope for the best. I am planning on getting there around 4:30. Anyone else have any thoughts/ideas? Do we still want to stick with Old Spaghetti Factory or try to figure out some place else?

Corals.....John & I will be starting with Jeanne & John in coral #26.

I think getting there at 4:30 and putting in the whole party should still work. There is an Italian restaurant right down the street named Sole Mio. Their website is here and dinner menu is available here.

It is an alternative but I do think the Spaghetti Factory will work out if we get there at 4:30, put in the whole party, and are a little patient with the restaurant trying to accommodate us.

Hi Everyone!

Wow, confirmation cards! I can't believe its here already. Dh and I are in corral 7??!! We usually start farther back so something must be different this year. I like the way they do the crowd control at the start of this race. Its almost fun to wait in the corrals.

We are leaving the kids at home this year so getting to the expo and then to dinner shouldn't be a problem. Dh and I walked right in to Demo's at 5:30 last year but 20 minutes later there was a 2 hour wait so timing is definately key.

:stitch: 'OHANA MONDAY MIXER :stitch:

The mixer starts HERE on the thread.

A spring chick told me that many of us gave up goodies for Lent. Now that Lent has ended, Monday is a good time for this mixer question:

What is one healthy food you always have in your kitchen? What is one less-than-healthy food you always have in your kitchen?

Feel free to post pictures, talk about how the foods help you in your training (either as nutrition or reward), and confess to guilty pleasures and happy indulgences!
