Country Inn and Suites out of action due to Hurricane Irma?

Hello,

We are cruising on the Nov 25 Western Caribbean on the Fantasy. We normally stay at the Country Inn and Suites. We arrive from PA the night before, partake in the Park ad Stay package and use the hotel's complementary shuttle to get to to the port.

Today I went to the Country Inn's website and it said the hotel sustained damage due to Hurricane Irma. I called reservations and they said that the hotel is not taking reservation thru to December.

I looked thru past message threads and found one mentioning the Homewood Suites. I called them and (according to the person on the phone) they have a Park and Stay but no shuttle.

So I am asking for your suggestions for a hotel with a Park and Stay package with a shuttle service, for our Nov 25th cruise. And if there is a fee for the shuttle could you please note it for me.

Thank you in advance,
Joe

@Mitura You can always use a separate shuttle company, the hotel shuttles are not free. We've used Cocoa Beach shuttle when not using the hotel shuttle.

Bump.

I was hoping for some ideas/recommendations on hotels near Port Canaveral with a park & shuttle package besides the Country Inn and Suites since they are temporarily out of service.

Have you tried Starwood Four Points?

Also, many people recommend Homewood Suites and Residence Inn.

We stayed in the Comfort Inn and Suites... the suite and the beds were fine, place was clean, but the pull-out bed was worse than crappy. It may have even had a hole in it. The carpeting felt old, as did the whole building and there was a hoard of college-aged people dominating the hotel (and pool). But that might have been a one off because of some skateboarding event that was going on in Cocoa Beach at the time. If I had no choices, I'd stay there again, but if there were other choices, probably not. We felt safe enough and the place is one block from the beach. It was just the pull-out bed (we paid extra for that) and the dated feel... Oh yeah, and the smelly slow elevator (yes, only one for that building).

We are displaced from the Country Inn & Suites, as well, and now have reservations at Homewood Suites. DH was advised that there are actually 3 shuttle times.

We just stayed at the Four Points, and it was a GREAT hotel!! The room was huge, and very nice, we loved it. The parking there is $6 a night...no idea about cruise and park, as we just parked our rental car at the port (our room was free with points).

FWIW - Called the CIS reservation desk today and the agent said they expect to be able to accommodate guests starting 12/1. Running behind due to permitting and other issues. I imagine that materials and labor are in huge demand.

According to Florida Today, 10/5:

DoubleTree by Hilton, Cocoa Beach will remain closed "until around 1 Jan"
there was exterior damage, some a/c units were blown off, and water intrusion 'throughout the hotel'

Country Inn & Suites will be closed until early December - the exact date "depends on how this weather holds up."
there was water intrusion to the lobby and many rooms requiring carpeting, drywall and painting.

other hotels are saying they may have a handful of rooms closed due to damage but the properties are open ....

overall, roughly 500 of over 9000 hotel rooms are 'offline', the two closed hotels represent 298 of those.

We've used the Marriott Residence Inn several times. Nice rooms, great breakfast and convenient transfers to the ship.

We love Marriott Residence Inn as well. Never took their shuttle as we usually have a rental and use the rental shuttle to get to port.

The Radisson at the Port is also nice...older but a great themed pool area. They have shuttles and I think a park and cruise package.

Check again at the Homewood suites by Hilton....I am pretty sure people posted on another thread that they did indeed have a shuttle. When you spoke to someone was it the hotel directly or the central reservations center.....if the latter they could be unaware of the shuttle.

Update - We were booked at Country Inn and Suites January 26th prior to our Fantasy sailing. I received an email 10/27 (I just saw it tonight) advising our reservation has been canceled.

I called today about our reservation (it isn’t till June) but they seemed clueless, about the entire issue at all. Definitely poor customer service if nothing else.

I believe they are opening their doors to guests on Feb 1. I noticed the room prices have doubled, though. It's possible they "lost" your reservation so you'd have to make a new one.

Wow! We were supposed to have been there in September in the midst of the hurricane but of course our cruise and Country Inn reservation was cancelled. We rebooked for October and CI cancelled on us. It sure has been closed a long time. We ended up staying across the street at the Residence Inn. We were very pleased with the place and the shuttle service. I believe that is where we will stay next time.

Did you happen to notice what type of work was being done on the Country Inn and Suites?
