Since the CB movie came out is there any new updated items in this attraction- Last time I thought it was horrible they kept singing blood on my shoe, blood on my saddle, it was old as the hill- any updates or more PC content? otherwise I'll plan to skip it.

I just saw it in Feb and the "Blood on the Ground" was still in it.
But my son(10) and I thought it was rather funny. (each to their own I guess) We were singing that piece for the rest of the trip.

We hadn't seen the show in a long time, always seem to pass by the bears. So we had totally forgotten it was in there.

Have a good trip!

What do you mean by "PC content"?

There are two versions of the show at WDW - the regular "Blood on the Saddle" version and a Christmas version. Both are quite old and have not been changed after the movie to the best of my knowledge.

I am not a fan of the show at all, but knowing that it is the sole survivor of the (thankfully) never-built Mineral King Ski Resort project it has a special place in Disney history, and I would hate to see it replaced for that reason alone.

We too catch ourselves singing the song after watching the show. It was PAWPAWS favorite. Everything does not have to be politically correct. It's a classic and I hope it stays just the way it is. There is nothing I hate worse than Disney changing an attraction because of a few complaints. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I find it inappropriate content for young children. I don't watch it but would like to see it updated - not everything need to be the same for history's sake.

So what you're saying is they should change it so you can take your kids to see it?

What I saying as a teacher is that I feel it is inappropriate for children and it is very old and I personally would like to see it changed. Don't we each have rides we would like to see change for personal reasons - really this is being taken personally when all I meant was to find out if they stopped singing about blood-No reason to attack- go see the show and take a chill.

Changed to what may I ask?

I certainly didn't intend my question as an attack. I'm sorry that you interpreted it that way. But it sure did sound like you wanted to know if they had changed the CB so it would be more appropriate for (your) kids.

And yes, it is very old. It's a classic. I throughly enjoy each time I see it. Therefore, I personally wouldn't want it changed.

Are there rides that I would like to see changed?

Sure.

I wish they had more comfortable seats in Space Ship Earth. But hear that they are changing that ride to something else. I will be disappointed when that happens. If it remained, it would be nice if it were updated to cover the last 25 years of technology.

I wish they would bring back the guns from Tom Sawyers Island and give the gun back to the guy/gal at the end of the Safari ride in AK.

I don't like to see things changed just because it might not be considered PC or that a small percentage of visitors think it's inappropriate for their children or themselves. There are lots of things in this world I think of in those terms. Personally, I avoid them.

However, that doesn't mean that if a majority of people complain (or have "concerns") about things like this, that they should remain unchanged. Disney should be considerate of those people and change accordingly.

They fully understand that when an attraction is not being visited, they find out why and either fix it, or replace it.

Our family loves this show just the way it is!!
Don't Change A Thing !!

Leave it up to a bunch of bears being kept indoors, forced to wear clothes, and to sing for their supper, to cause such a ruckus... ;)

Does anyone else wonder where the rest of the moose's body went?

I got to say here - I LOVE THE COUNTRY BEARS! On my first trip to Disney when I was in 2nd grade - I found this to be my favorite and most memorable piece of the trip! (Sad I know) Santa Clause then left the sing along album for me and I played that thing over, and over, and over... O.K. you get the point. Needless to say, I am now 30 and planning a my kids 1st Disney Trip for March - The County Bear Jamboree will be one of the first things on our list of must sees! :D

My family regularly sings "Blood on the saddle" especially when we are referring to someone we consider rather small minded. It is a joke and we all laugh.

Mimimama if you child cannot handle "Blood on the Saddle" you better not let him/her watch TV, listen to the radio, read most books......... really isn't the discussion of Country Bears not being appropriate silly. We all have more important things to worry about.

Please don't change Country Bears!!! We love "Mama Don't Whoop Little Buford" (Mama, don't pound on his head. Mama, don't whoop little Buford! I think you should shoot him instead!!!!!) Talk about PC incorrect! I'm certainly not going to take child rearing advice from the song. (I'd like a little credit for discernment!) It's just good old fashioned fun.

I'll second getting the guns back on Tom Sawyer. (Let's all stand and look out the windows. Fun, fun, fun! Let's just rewrite history and pretend this was never part of our heritage.):D

I thought they might change to something more like the movie. If you look back at my original post you will see I was asking if due to the new movie if they had changed the ride. It really was an innocent question- I am not worried or stressed or focused on this ride and it is not my children who can not handle the ride it is I who thought it was inappropriate and not so much that but mostly to me not entertaining- lame as could be and old. But as a matter of fact my children do not watch much TV mostly PBS and Disney. We do however read lots of books and discuss the content. I have lots of rides I love and would not like changed and lots I would like to see change. Plus lots of things I miss greatly like the sky ride and 20,000 leagues and Mr. Toad's ride So I understand why people want to keep it for those reasons but really you would think I work for Disney and could actually do soemthing about this the way people overreacted. Happy touring to all!

I love that Blood on the Saddle song, it cracks me up each time..all in good fun. I also liked the PoC better when the Pirates chased the women around. Not everything has to be PC all the time to be fun....

My DH is the only complainer he says the ride would be much better if they gave you a few softballs as you entered- he read that in a guide so funny- that is what I always think now when I ride.
