Country Bear Jamboree: Love it or Leave it?

I haven't seen this show since I was about 5 years old so I don't remember it at all!! I'm wondering how many people love it, how many people hate it, and how many are indifferent? What happens during the show anyway?? I don't remember!!!!

Leave it- I was sitting on the floor and so upset with my tired body was expected to move when the show started.

I would think little ones would love it.

One of my all-time favorites - I can never get enough of Big Al! My husband is not as fond of it (but that's because his name is Wendell and anyone who has seen it knows that Wendell is not the brightest bear in the bunch). This is also my 80 year old father's favorite. (He has a stuffed Big Al on his couch!)

This attraction is one of my favorite memories of WDW from when I was younger! I remember my dad singing "Blood on the Saddle" at us for weeks afterward. I heard that they got rid of this attraction at Disneyland. Anyone know if that's true? I sincerely hope they never shut it down in WDW.

As with many of the classic attractions, I can't tell you if I like it because its good, or because of the nostalgic connection. It wouldn't be right if it were closed!

Its one of those attractions that I fear may not appeal to kids today who are used to more "bells and whistles". But, my kids enjoy it!

I know it's a classic, but I can not stand this show! However, DH insists on seeing it every trip- somethimes twice! Last trip he took DD4 to see it while I sat with DS2 during his nap in the stoller! I had a much better time people watching IMHO!

Love it.

Country Bear Jamboree along with Its A Small World were my deceased fathers favorites. Each time I visit this show with my own kids, I remember back to the great times I had as a kid on our family vacations.

It's kinda boring to me but my wife likes it alot. It it's hot outside I view it as a chance to rest and cool off.

I love the Country Bears. Everytime I go to the Magic Kingdom, I want to see the Bears. The rest of the family will watch the show once or twice a trip, but unless it's really hot they start to roll their eyes when they hear, "Let's do the Bears".

I think the show needs to be updated , we usually skip on our visits. I know some love this show, but it's not high on our list.

...and I for one am sad/angry that they removed the CBJ from Disneyland.

I had been waiting for years to be able take my child to CBJ for Xmas and when I finally do have a DD to take they remove it and put in Pooh. Ok fine she loves Eeyore but still!

Anyway my DW and I love it!

I don't care for it, but when it's hot, it's a good way to cool off.

We first saw it when my ds and dd were 5 and 3. DD fell asleep in my arms and ds could have cared less. When we left I thought they should have included some songs that everyone knows...not necessarily disney songs, but simple old songs that would get people more involved, but then the more I thought about it I thought all it really needed was a real catchy tune like COP. Something that everyone would walk out of there singing.

Last year we saw it again with my 9 yr old ds, 7 and 2 yr old dd's. This year, my ds said he liked it much better than he remembered it from before but my dd's were both not impressed except that they had a chance to cool off.

Once again, I thought the music was really boring and the kids just don't get a lot of the jokes.

I saw a recent Disney brochure that did not list CBJ and what I thought was in its place was something called Goofy's Country Review....but maybe the Goofy thing is something completely separate...does anyone know what it is?

I agree. The orginal show was cute, but they Christmas one is the best. Very festive and a wonderful tradition. I'd miss it if it were gone.

Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree is a new character show at the Diamond Horseshoe. I'm not sure why the Country Bears were left off the map. If it's the same one I saw, Snow White was missing too.

I love the Country Bears.... I remember my parents bought the album (maybe it was an 8-track) of the soundtrack of the show when we went in 1976, and played it all of the time. Still makes me smile thinking about it!

I can't wait for my boys (DS5 & DS2) to experience it for the first time when we go in May.

CBJ is a family favorite for us. It's just kitcshy and nostalgic enough to appeal to DW and my weirdo sense of humor. DS4 and DD6 love it as well. Last year I posted about if they might change the show and went down in big orange flames- all I can say is I hate it- blood on the saddle not for my 4 year old!

The first time our family saw the show it was a Summer Vacation version. I preferred the summer show to the original. I wonder if they still do the summer show?
