Country Bear Jamboree - Eating?

Okay, I admit it's been...um...a REALLY LONG TIME since I was at the Country Bear Jamboree, but I have a vague recollection of eating while watching the bears sing. Is my mind playing tricks on me? Is it a restaurant/show?

The first and ABSOLUTELY the last time I was there, about 4 years ago, it was just a show.

Never again, never again....oh, just to be clear.....NEVER AGAIN!

LOL -- was it that bad? My recollections of it when I was a kid was that it was cool. Mind you, it was the 70's...and my parents were hippies...

When we went 2 trips ago, the CM directing us to our waiting area (we wait in the wheelchair area due to my daughter's disability) told us we were not allowed to go in with our popcorn (we didn't realize so we had just bought some). I asked if we could just close up the boxes (fold the tops down) and she allowed us in but we had to promise not to open them until we left the theatre.

I think it's one of those things that's nice to do once as an adult. The animatronics seem very outdated to me and I found it kind of boring and a waste of our time but I'm glad the girls got to see it once. I doubt we'll go back again.

*shrug* Country Bear Jamboree is a must for my family. Yes, it's corny but we think it's fun. My husband (not the greatest singer in the world) sings along with the bears as does my son (who is now 14).. Luckily, they don't sing loud enough to bug anyone around us. And we try hard not to sit near others. Okay, okay, I whisper sing the words, too.

But I've never been there were eating during the show was okay or a part of the show, though. Maybe someone else has that answer.

It's not a restaurant. You may be thinking of the Diamond Horseshoe, which used to have a show AND they sold food.

Again, it was over 30 years ago... but thanks for the advice. I guess with having "Chuck E. Cheese" and so forth in every major city, watching animatronic animals sing is no longer a 'must see' for everyone.

I'd definitely avoid eating at the jamboree - the show is so bad you'll likely be seeing your food again a few minutes after you eat it.

Way back a long time ago there was a character breakfast with Melvin the Moose that was included with some packages. That *could be* what you're remembering. (I never did this one, so I can't say where it was held.)

For us, yes....I thought it would be a nice show for my 5 year old son...we couldn't understand a word they said....the three of us sat there with our mouths open.... At first we were surprised, we really didn't think it would be like that. I guess, after seeing other shows and entertainment in Disney, it just seemed out of place. Then after a while, it started to get very annoying . We really wanted to leave!

I thought that it was just us but I heard a few people leaving the theatre wondering what they even said.....of course they were laughing about it....

So, definitely not on our to do list!

If I asked my dad, he would say the Country Bears is his favorite attraction at Disney, lol. Granted, he is not much of a disney freak, but he enjoys corny stuff I guess I have many memories as a kid going there with him, it's kind of cute to think of. But no, I don't remember ever eating in the theater.

We go occasionally even though it's pretty hokey. I personally go just to see Big Al. Sorry but I love Big Al.

No food there, at Disneyland there was a restaurant up above the CBJ called Hungry Bear (well it's still there but CBJ is gone). I always like to go to CBJ at WDW because the one at DL is gone and I reminisce about it. After we walk out my dh says that reminds him of why they took it out of DL - because it's so lame. I still love it though!

I feel the same way! It's just not a trip to Disney for me unless I see the Country Bears.

I find it refreshing after a long day of high octane show and rides ... which I absolutely enjoy too.
