Counting down to the last days of school?

Only 8 1/2 days left of school, well, not counting today anyway. How many do you have left? I can hardly wait for school to get out. I am ready for summer!!!

7 days not counting today, which means 8 days 'til we leave for Universal/WDW trip!!!!!

DD15 has 15 more full days of school, and four half-days of final exams. She is MORE than ready for school to end and summer vacation to start! She just seems physically exhausted as well as mentally, and is looking forward to a summer of sleeping late, relaxing poolside, and going on a few small trips.

I can't wait either!

Ds's last day is this Friday, and we're looking forward to a fun summer. This year went by so quickly!

It's 10 plus 1 hour (our last day of school is for 1 hour! UGH!).

We still have Memorial day in there as a holiday, so that's a really, really short week.

It's only 10 days for my Kindergartner though because they don't go for that 1 hour day, so he's out of school the day before the other kids.

I'm READY for it to be done - although I don't know I've already gotten a ton of registration packets and things to fill out for next year, so our school doesn't even give us parents a break.

Here in the NE my kids don't get out until June 19th (we go back august 30th) so we still have just under 5 weeks. DS11 is in the middle of MCAS (state testing) now. They both have field trips and field days and parties coming up so they are not all school days.

We have 21 days of school left. My youngest son (a second grader) just asked me yesterday how many more days before summer vacation.

Thanks to a couple flood days my sister is in school until June 24. My mom (a teacher) will be there until June 28. It remains to be seen whether or not my stepsister's 8th grade graduation will be moved back, although I don't remember what the original graduation date was.
They're all hating me because my last (and only) final is TODAY

Another yankee here, we go until mid/late June with exams. Actual end of school is June 9th for highschool, with exams until the 21st. Middle school is pretty close to the same date (21st) for their last days too. There school ends a week later but exams go to right around the same date.

One of mine has 30 days left and so that must mean my girls have about 37. I can't wait.

They're out on the 25th and we leave for Italy on the 27th.

I solemnly swear that I will never again plan a major vacation for right after school is out!

It is absolute insanity...there are countless hours of dance recital, talent show, voice recital, choir concerts, etc., not to mentions STUDYING FOR FINALS before we leave...oh, yeah, and we're putting in a pool. At least I have 36 hours after school is out until we leave....last year we left for WDW directly from school on the last day!

Oh by the way,it is a new state law that, beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, Texas schools must all start on the 4th Monday in August, so there won't be thousands of Texans descending on WDW before Memorial Day anymore.

DS last day is June 9, so we have some time yet. There first day won't be until Sept 5 though.

DS's school year SHOULD have ended 5 minutes ago after his last exam, but he had a 24 hr bug Monday (I've never seen someone vomit so much!) so missed 2 exams. He's making up one this morning, and will be taking another tomorrow.

14 days left here. My oldest son starts 7th grade next year. Went to a mtg. last night, school starts back Aug 23rd.
Not happy about that...not much I can do though.

NC started this year with the new law that school can't start before august 25th so kids have to go until June 9th this year. When I graduated in 93 we graduated on May 17th or close there abouts

Last day is the 25th--next Thursday. That's when you'll hear screaming from my neck of the woods. They go back Aug. 3rd unless some last-minute change in the law alters it (the state's pushing to get the start date around the end of Aug or around Labor Day).

Y'all know, don't you, that it is the travel/tourism industry that is lobbying all of the state legislatures for later school start dates (post Labor Day if they can get it). It might help them in other states, but I think it is just ridiculous in Texas. So now we have 2 extra weeks vacation in August...in Texas....hey, it's 105 degrees outside! Let's go to the Alamo! Let's go to Six Flags!....NOT! It's going to be more like Let's go to Canada!
