Counter service?

Can anyone list a few things they sell at counters?

I'm guessing french fries, hamburgers, hot dogs. Anything else?

Can you buy rice or soup or any "real food" as my dh would say?

I'm perfectly fine to eat whatever but dh likes other things and our kids are the same. We don't plan to eat at a restaurant, just counter service.

Different counter service places have different items. I know that Aunt Pollies at the MK has great sandwiches. There is a place a Epcot that has crepes. Check out wdwig.com to see if the menus are posted for the counter service places.

Aunt Pollies is the one on the island, right? I am pretty sure they only have PB&J sandwiches

We really like the Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom - they do Chicken strips, fish and chips, sandwiches, clam chowder - take a look Here

Around world showcase in Epcot you can get loads of international counter service - we enjoyed the Japanese one, and the Fish and Chips in England are pretty authentic (if a little pricey)

At AK, the Tusker house do half a chicken, salmon and rice, turkey wraps see here

At MGM we usually eat at Rosie's cafe which is an outdoor food court area near Tower or Terror - but I can't think of a non-fast food option there

There are lots of places you can get pizza and wraps . Living with the land at Epcot has a food court type place that has all kinds of options including some healthy ones. Also check out trails end buffet at the fort wilderness camp ground. It's great homestyle cooking at prices not much more than fast food.

The selection at the counter service places has improved greatly and most offer more healthy choices as well as the hamburger/hotdog options. You can get some great meals at Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbor House.

All four parks have great counter serve restaurants - the menus for all the restaurants can be found at allears - try this:
