We will probably want to eat a counter service before we leave to visit off site parks quite early in the morning.

I have looked at the SSR counter service (where we are staying) and not over impressed.

Where else would you suggest to eat counter service breakfast say around 7-7.30am in the norming, assume either at hotel based counter service or DTD.

Thanks

Since you will have a car any of the resorts will be fine. They are the only places that will be open so early. I would personally choose a resort closest to the park you are going to for that day. For MK you could do any of the monorail resorts, Animal Kingdom lodge if you are going to AK or even CSR which is on the way. DHS and Epcot are nearest any of the Epcot resorts. If you are doing an am EMH on any days, you may as well hold off if you can and eat at the park your are going to. Sunshine Seasons in Epcot is great for that, so is Main Street Bakery in MK.

Wolfgang Puck Express does a great breakfast - the cornflake french toast is yummy.

I agree that the SSR counter service is less than impressive.

We had breakfast at SSR a few times last year on DDP. We ordered 2 breakfast platters, sausage, bacon, egg, potatoes, mini Mickey waffles. 1 tea, 1 coffee, 1 choc milk & 1 orange juice. 1 strawberries & cream. I had Mickey waffles, 2 strwberries & cream, DS12 had 2 sausages & strawberries & DH the rest. This was 2 cs & 1 snack. We plan on trying Wolfgang Puck Express this year. We like Main Street Cafe for breakfast, I have cheese, egg & ham croisant, cherry danish & coffee for 1 cs.

You have to excuse me. I completely missed the off site bit in your original post. You must have wondered where I was sending you!

WPE and Earl of Sandwich are great, but you won't be able to get anything to eat so early there - they only open later on, around 8 or 9 am. Now if you are happy with sandwiches you could pick the things up the night before from Downtown Disney or anywhere else you fancy and eat them in your room before you leave.
