Hey everyone, :wave2:

Which "counter service" restaurants restaurants do you recommend and feel are good value?

Next time I go, I won't be able to afford to go to the sit-down restuarants quite as often so I was just hoping for some recommendations for the counter service restaurants.

Thanks in advance.

We really enjoy Pizza Planet at MGM and Liberty Inn at Epcot. :D

The counter service anywhere in AK is great. Way better quality and selection than most places in the other parks. I also really like Peco's Bills in MK. The burgers are delicious and I just love the topping bar!

We love Columbia Harbor House in MK, Tusker House and Flame Tree BBQ in AK and pretty much any of the counter services places in World Showcase!!

I love the chicken wrap at Pecos Bills. Yummy!!!

A couple of the cheaper eats I enjoyed at WDW last month:

Hot Dogs at Casey's Corner MK

Taco Meal at El Pirata y el Perico Mk

Philly Cheesesteak at Cosmic Rays Mk

The Land Pavilion, Lots of choices in there!! I tried the Baked Potato, BBQ Ribs and Chicken, Mickey Roni and Cheese, Mickey and Marinara, and Tuna Salad Sub and Soup.....I really didn't eat all this, its what a family of 5 ate, I just tried a little taste of everyone's, the best was the tuna sub and soup.

We stayed at the POP and I liked the food in the food court, lots of choices, not very expensive. Hope this helps.

This isn't exactly counter service, but we really enjoy the hot dogs from the hot dog cart on the Boardwalk. There are benches near by to sit and watch the boats travel round the lake or simply people watch. If you have room after the big hot dog, Seashores Sweets is right there for some yummy ice cream.

We really liked the pizza from Pizza Planet at MGM, and fresh salads there too.

at MK, we always eat at Cosmic Ray's (chicken, burgers, sandwiches, soup, salads). We also liked Pecos Bills (chicken wrap was awesome) and Columbia Harbor House.

at Epcot, we usually eat in the Land Pavillion, since it's a food court-style & everyone can find something they like.

We generally do 1 or 2 sit down meals, and the rest counter service (at least until our kids get a little older).

Another second for Flame Tree BBQ in AK - we love their food and their portions are so hefty you can actually share with someone!!!

Kewl. Thanks for the tips. I ate twice at Comsic Rays last time and quite enjoyed it.

I'm definately gonna check out Flame Tree. Heard lotsa good things about it.

My dh and dd love the restaurant at Morocco. It's a nice change after a couple days of burgers.

Pecos Bills.

Loved the fixings bar for hamburgers

AK- Tusker House, hands down!!!

MK- Columbia Harbor House or Casey's

Epcot- Fish and Chips stand, France's pastry shop they have other items other than pastry, Norway and Japan's faster options which I don't remember the name of. Check Deb's site for the menus.

MGM- Very limited here, we generally go with footlong hot dogs and baked potatoes from Sunset Ranch Market.

Backlot Restuarant in MGM - This is a Veggie Sandwich. It was very good. It taste like a Pizza with all the fixin' (yeah realllllllly good)!!!!

Don't forget that at AK you can get those bargain meal deals with the ice cream and drink later in the day.

If you are looking for something that is not the burgers and fries I would suggest the following:

AK - Tusker House

MK - Columbia Harbor house

EC - Tangerine Cafe/Morroco, love their wraps and salads
Sommerfest/Germany, really good Brats & Saurkraut
Matsunoma Lounge in Japan, great view and a nice assortment of tempora & sushi

The Land, Columbia Harbor House and the counter service at the Germany pavilion (whatever its name is); Flame Tree BBQ in AK is good too.

Our favorites:

MK - Casey's for hot dogs and corn dog nuggets
Columbia Harbour House for tuna sandwiches (huge!)

Epcot - Yakatori House for combo plate and Udon soup

AK - FlameTree for pulled pork sandwich, corn on the cob, beans
Pizzafari for Hot Deli sandwich (sorta like a calzone)

MGM - Pizza Planet for veggie pizza
The turkey leg stand near ToT, not for turkey legs (gross!) but for a pretty good hotdog

Another quick lunch we do is a big soft pretzel, which you can get all over the place for under three dollars. They are huge!
