Counter Service @ OKW??

Just got back from VWL 2 days ago (we had a super time!!) and am now planning our mega 2010 2 week vacation.

I am thinking of trying OKW for our pre cruise portion of our trip but am I correct in understanding that OKW does not have any counter service options? If that is the case, what are the food and beverge options there?

There is, but it's very bare bones. I think of it as "for emergencies only", or perhaps if I want to grab a bite by the pool.

There is Olivia's (a full service sit down) or a counter service place just behind the Gurgling Suitcase bar. We don't do counter service, so I can't comment on the variety or quality, but I suspect it's like most of the generic Disney places.

The CS is VERY limited.....bout the size of a walk in closet. But the Resort is Beautifull, Shawn

I've never ate at GTG but there are several good CS options just a boat ride away at DTD. I've eatten at WPE and Earl of Sandwich and both are very good. I'm thinking of trying Cookes of Dublin this trip. The boat ride the very relaxing.

Goods to Go is great for grabbing a bite to eat by the pool, burgers, hot dogs, salads, just your basics, my kids love the soft pretzels and onion rings there, you also can fill your refillable mugs up there

You can also walk or boat to SSR - Artist Pallette CS or Turf Club table service.

I ate at GTG several times last trip. DH and DS5 went to the spring training games, took the car, so that left me and DS1 with nowhere to go for lunch besides GTG. The food is okay, nothing spectacular, and moderately pricey. Adult meal and kid's meal were around $12-$13 for both. I had a refillable mug so didn't pay for a drink for me. Not much selection...cheeseburger, turkey sandwich, salad and a couple of other selections. That's it.

If you have other options such as SSR (car or boat), head over there. Artist's Palette is pretty good.

The CS at OKW is not REALLY a true CS place...I mean it's a place to grab a hotdog if you're at the pool........and it is very SLOW.........
