I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for counter service places on the DDP for a DBF who LOVES to anything and everything. Since we are on the DDP I am looking for something that will keep him full until 8pn when our ADR are scheduled.

Thanks!

A few suggestions - places we tried where we liked the food and there was alot of it!
Epcot: Tangierine Cafe (Morocco)
AK: Flame Tree BBQ
DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express
We weren't crazy about Cosmic Ray's in MK, but there was a chicken/ribs platter that was alot of food. At MGM we had the pizza/salad combo at Toy Story Pizza Planet with a cookie for dessert that was pretty good.

AK -- Tusker House. The rotisserie chicken plate is large and tasty.
MGM -- Backlot. We just got fruit there, but it is the only place I see in MGM that gets mostly decent reviews. Avoid ABC Commissary!
MK -- A lot of people like Columbia Harbour House (we didn't). Peco Bills certainly satisfied our hunger one night when we were waiting for the parade.
Epcot -- This park definitely has the most and best CS choices. There's The Land in Future World, and most of the countries have counter service places. We weren't on the DDP though, so I am not positive if all the counters take the credits. We liked the fish and chips at the stand in England. That is certainly a big plate.

My family loves Pecos Bill at MK. It is better than some TS meals we have had. We never miss it.

Cosmic Ray's the chicken/rib combo platter had tons of food. 1/2 roasted chicken mashed potatoes, ribs, and cooked carrots. I didn't care for the ribs and gave them to my DH bigger eater who ate them plus his meal. I still had plenty for me and my two yr old to eat.

Pecos bills 1/2 pound burger plus toppings and fries is alot to eat plus dessert.

How do others feel about the ribs from Cosmic Rays? We planned on eating there and that chicken & rib mesal sounded like 2 would feed all of us

Cosmic Rays also has a chicken only dinner that is half a chicken comes out to be just about the same amount of food as the ribs and chicken meal.

MGM Backlot Express has a turkey sandwich that is HUGE

Breakfast in room before starting the day might help. Usually DH and I shared a mid morning snack and a mid afternoon snack when we was on the free dining last year. Lunch was usually just before we left the park for our afternoon break somewhere between noon and 2

We had a great meal at Flame Tree at AK on our last trip. The bbq sandwich is large and tasty. It comes with a half ear of corn and baked beans. It should make you DBF happy! :)

We also enjoy the hot dogs from Casey's at MK.

MK: Cosmic Rays has a rib/chicken platter thats big and Pecos Bill has a double meat burger and fries with a good fixings bar. Of course, you get a drink and a dessert at both.

Epcot: Norway you get a bowl of soup, sandwich, any pastry, and a large drink and in Morocco you can get a lamb/chicken swarma platter with three sides, baklava, and a drink.

MGM: Backlot Express has a turkey sandwich with slaw and a drink that's not bad.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ has a rib meal with corn, baked beans, drink, and you can get carrot cake or a frozen lemonade for dessert.

Starring Rolls at MGM was great. I had a grilled vegi pita. My sister had the Turkey Focaccia. We were allowed to choose from fruit or chips for a side and any dessert in the case. I think she had strawberry shortcake and I had a brownie. We both chose bottled water as our beverage.

I'll second (or third) Tusker House at AK too.

Just subscribing to this thread. We are going in Oct and are on the dining plan and want to make better choices with CS than we did last year.

Take a look under my post: Counter Service Reviews under the dining reviews subsection of this board. That might help! :sunny:
