counter service meals

I am one of those from the Overplanaholics thread, so my question is...about how long does it take to eat in a counter service restaurant? I have allotted about 1 1/2 hours for my TSs, but not sure about CSs. I need to know this esp. for AK, as we'd like to hit Fest. of LK right after lunch.

P.S. We're going to try to eat at somewhat "off hours", but some days we might end up there right at noon!

If you hit CS spots at off peak time's 30 to 45 mintues

I agree! 30-45 minutes. We usually hit CS about 1 p.m. or just a bit before the lunch hour rush if we had a really early breakfast or light breakfast.

I would plan on 15-20 minutes in line and then whatever it takes for your family to eat a sandwich and fries.

My experience has been 5 minutes in line and another 20-30 to eat.

It depends on the place and time. Bakeries are quickest, because the food is already prepared. Tusker House and Cosmic Ray's took us about an hour, while Starring Rolls and Kringla og Bakeri took much less.
