counter service lunches at AK

Hi, Does anyone have any good recommendations for counter service lunches at AK? Also could you please tell me where they are located at? I've only been to AK once so I'm not familiar with it. Thanks

Flame Tree BBQ is wonderful ... the food is always delicious and plentiful. Can't tell you exactly where it's located ... somewhere near Flights of Wonder I think, but that's what your AK guide map is for.

I agree that Flame Tree BBQ is great. Good food and wonderful outdoor seating down by the river.

Another good choice is Tusker House which is close to the Safari entrance.

If it is hot weather, then you must eat at Tusker House. This counter service restaurant has air condition, plenty of tables & chairs (with highchair also), fountain water (free of charge), and the food is very tasty for WDW counterservice. Tusker House is sort of deceiving because you enter through a small doorway but then opens up big and high with 6 lines to order food. Our attack plan is to always get a fastpass for Kil. Safari, then go eat at Tusker House. Once done eating, get into the fastpass line for our ride without too much wait. Tusker House is in the Africa area, just before you reach the Kil. Safari ride.

We like the Rotis. Chicken with mash potato and green beans.

Tusker House is my fav at AK.. It is right in africa on the left hand side as you head toward the safari. Almost across from the road to the right toward Asia. It totally threw me off the 1st time, doesnt look like a cs place from the outside. I love the chicken wrap with the corn chowder. Yummy!!!!

Another vote for Tusker house. I reccomend the chicken sandwich, very tasty and huge! I wasn't impressed with their kids meals though, kind of slimy.

Another vote for Tusker House. In addition to the turkey wrap, chowder, and roasted chicken already mentioned, they also sell fresh fruit cups and yogurt, which my niece and nephew really enjoyed.

Flame Tree BBQ was really good and when we were there last June you could sit and watch the boat on the water. It had Mickey and Minnie on it and my DD loved it. Also you get a great view of Expedition Everest.

We enjoy Pizzafari

Another vote for Pizzafari. I've eaten at all 3 places (and had the Chicken sandwich at Tusker house). But I still keep returning to Pizzafari and the hot Italian sandwich.

Pizzafari is fun to go in during off times when it's not crowded (unless you don't mind milling around other people eating) and look at the art on the walls. All the walls are painted in much detail w/ animals and nature scenes w/ bright colors. We struck up a chat w/ 2 cm's working there. 1 was very eager to show his knowledge. There are several hidden Mickeys and he took us on a little tour and played hot/cold for us to find them all. There is also some 'flaws' in the pictures. Where the possums are hanging..1 does not have a tail.

We've also eaten at Tusker House and it was very good. very spacious and can handle big crowds well.

I was also impressed with Pizzafari. It was a nice place to relax, seems too pretty to be a pizza joint! The food was delicious. DS's had pizza which looked really good. I had the Italian sandwich which was great!!

The Italian Sandwich is Bueno! at Pizzafari
Flame Tree is the Best, but you'll be eating outside. If you are standing at the Tree of Life looking towards Dinoland, it is on your left before you get to Dinoland.
