Counter service at Studios?

Backlot Express.
There aren't many great options for CS at the Studios, but we always find Backlot to be ok.

My son is the one holdout in the family though, he LOVES ABC Commissary, he loves the Chicken Curry there...just the smell of it makes me nauseous.

The only place we've really gone to more than a few times is Starring Rolls. The menu is limited, but they have pretty good sandwiches. :)

Starring Rolls Cafe is absolutely amazing. They do lovely sandwiches and also have an incredible selection of cakes. :)
If you're looking for hot food apparently Toy Story Pizza Express is also good but a bit noisy.

We ate at SRC also and they had good sandwiches and yummy cupcakes if you'er in to that. I can post pics if you want, just let me know!! We thought Toy Story pizza was terrible. ABC is okay, nothing get.

If we have time we leave the studios and go to Beaches and Cream. YUMMY!!!:thumbsup2

When we were there in January we ate lunch at the place near Tower of Terror (Fairfax Faire?) It was better than I expected. There was also a stand nearby with fresh/healthy options that my picky daughter was able to get pineapple and grapes at for her lunch and I believe we used snack credits for her items.

We've had decent luck at the Studio Catering Company. The sandwiches were unique and not just the ordinary hamburger.

There is absolutely nothing at DHS that is worth recommending as far as cs. The only place that is close to being ok is Starring Rolls, and even then I mention it with much trepidation. Sure it has some excellent baked items but when it comes to a meal well....... They are cold cut sandwiches. Sorry, they are ok, but I can hardly get excited over two slices of bread with some lettuce and a few other items stacked with either turkey or ham, I don't care how fancy you want to try and name them or make them look, they are still cold cuts and bread,IMHO.

Personally I think the Studios is so pathetic in it's CS choices that we (myself included) make Starring Rolls out to be better than it really is(nothing more than ok). That is unless you just want a pastry which they are very good with. :)

That place is great! We ate there in September, and I will never not eat there again. Well, at least once each trip. It has a rib/chicken combo like Ray's but with different sides. The barbq sammie looked really good. I also like Studio Catering and Starring Rolls, but at last at DHS I have a new home.

I recommend this every time someone asks about HS, and no one has ever commented back as to whether they had tried it too.

We like Min and Bill's Dockside. They have a pretzel dog and an Italian Sausage in a hoagie wrap. Both are great!! You can also get a thick, chocolate milk shake to go with it. Please give them a try.

I agree that the choices are lacking at HS. We like Starring Rolls, but mostly because we're cupcake freaks and love their cupcakes.

end up at Backlot Express. It has a pretty standard menu. Studio Catering is usually good. The menu is small and my kids can't find things they like so we don't go often.

no real recommendations. We ended up at ABC last year due to the kids selections (burger and fries). Our boys are on the older end of the kids ddp and the little pb&j that everyone else offered is a joke to older kids. Pizza Planet used to be doable but when the kids pizza became something the size or an english muffin it became a no go for our family.

We normally hit up Backlot Express and its fine; nothing stellar, but consistently OK.

We tried SCC for the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich on our last trip and it was equally good. The seating area did turn into a bit of a wind tunnel, so be careful on more blustery days. :)
